I couldn’t resist using the adorable I heart YOU image in the Thanks Stamp Set to create a Valentine’s Day card…and this one was just so fun for me to make! I love using nontraditional colors in my holiday cards, and am happy to see that lots of patterned paper collections this year have incorporated dark gray and light teal into them – I used Crate Paper’s Fourteen collection on this card.
I first stamped the image in Versafine black ink onto cream cardstock, and repeated this step using A Muse Studio cranberry ink so I could cut the red heart and adhere it to the top of the black one with some foam tape.
I used several other dies to layer and create the focal point, using some hemp twine to tie a bow, and a chipboard button and some bling to add some sparkle to the card. I didn’t thread the chipboard button because the holes were too big; I thought covering them with those rhinestones seemed like a better idea.
I think I am going to give this card to my dad for Valentine’s Day. I hope he loves it as much as I love him!
Thanks for stopping by today for my first Design It Monday post! xoxo
