Hello! I’m so excited to be a guest designer here, on the Precious Remembrance Blog. Today I’ll be sharing a picture tutorial on how I’ve created these really cute cupcake toppers. I’m mostly known for creating fun party decorations with stamps—and this Little One set was perfect for baby shower party decor.
What’s great about this design is that you can use a wide variety of color pattern papers to fit any baby shower. If it’s a girl, this pink polka dot paper is perfect; however, if it’s a boy or a gender neutral shower you can use card stock colors like, blue, green, lavender, or yellow.
To start I pulled out some pattern paper and my desired craft punch—in this case, my EK Success Real Estate Sign punch.
Once I’ve punched out the base for the topper, I grabbed my Versa Marker pen so I could do some selective stamping and embossing. With the pen I only applied the slow drying ink to the text, and stamp the sentiment in the center of my punched sign.
Next, I applied some silver embossing powder, and applied heat.
To add a vintage feel to the toppers I applied some Vintage Photo, distress ink around the edges.
Next, I glued the signs to some food picks and allowed them to dry before covering the back with the same shape—to hide the food pick.
Lastly, I added some satin ribbon and tied a really cute bow!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this design!
