Design It Monday ~ {Playful Patterns}

Hello and thanks for joining us today! I thought I would mix a few playful patterns and do a bit of paper piecing using the new Little One stamp set. Sometimes mixing patterns and colors can be intimidating. I find the easiest way to get around that is to pull papers of various patterns and colors from the same designer paper pad. I’m am hopelessly addicted to those sweet little 6×6 pads! This fluttery butterfly and darling aqua gingham came from the same collection. When stamping the carriage, I stamped off the gray ink first to soften the look then paper pieced it.  I used the complimenting lime green from the butterfly paper to add an extra hint of color. A small  butterfly was snipped out and popped it up for fun! For even more playful pattern, I pulled the lighter aqua from the butterflies to use for my polka dot embossed panel. Polka dots…another of those sweet things I’m hopelessly addicted to! And lastly I tucked my sentiment into the carriage to bring the eye directly to the focal image.

Once you get the hang of using patterns and colors from the same collection, you can start mixing in papers from other collections that are in your color scheme. I hope you’re enjoying our designs with this new set. Be sure to stop back, there are MORE to come!!

  2. Sweet baby card Lisa! I love those patterned papers you used and I am afraid to ask the name of the pad because I will likely buy it–same addiction! That sweet carriage is darling in gingham!
