Inspire Me Friday {Soft and Sweet}

Hello, everyone!  I’m so happy to be back sharing today…seems like forEVER since I last posted, so…I’m EXTRA happy to share a soft and snugly creation with you today.  I’m sure you’ll recognize this little guy from the Little One set…

I stamped him on some wool felt, fussy cutting his top half (Be careful…let the ink dry!) and adding just a dab of chalk to his face.  Then I carefully cut up the line of his tummy/arm so I could tuck him in ‘bed’ and let his little arm out from under the covers to hold his little message.  The ‘I {heart} HUGS’ sentiment is on the bear’s tummy in the set, but I’ve cut it out here to use it separately.

You can see I’ve stitched a felt star border on the top edge of his ‘comforter’, and stitched around the edges to form a pocket.  A tip for that…You don’t want to stitch the pocket totally flat, or it may be difficult to tuck the bear in.  I put just a dab of adhesive in each bottom corner of the pocket to keep it in position, and then folded a scrap of felt in half and tucked it in the middle of the pocket while sewing.  Then…after stitching…I pulled out the scrap, positioned my bear under his cover just the way I wanted him, and adhered.  I also stamped one of the delicate little borders from the set at the top, and used the ‘congratulations’ sentiment at the bottom.  And I think that covers it!  I hope you enjoyed this extra soft creation and are inspired to incorporate a little extra softness into your next project for any little ones you may be welcoming into the world this summer!  Let me know if you have any questions!!!

Thanks so much for stopping in!
