Hi everyone! Ivana here with you today, to share my latest card using the beautiful new stamp set, Journey.
I am so excited about my card today, because it reminds me sooo much of my childhood. Do you all remember Rainbow Brite?
This card is inspired by this infamous cartoon character and is a fun spin on my usually-pastel creations.
To create this card, I started with layers of different cardstock colors, in fun shapes. For the background scallop, I used a tag to trace the design onto my paper, before cutting it out with my scissors. Over that, I layered a few bits of patterned paper, along with a die-cut doily, and a colorful die-cut heart border.
To create the centerpiece of the card, I used the star stamp from the Journey set, and stamped random stars in a purple and a green ink. I stamped the sentiment using a teal colored ink, and added a word border, on each edge of the cardstock square, using the “smile” stamp from the set.
To finish off the card, I followed with similar layered bits at the bottom, followed by more stamped stars and another little sentiment.
**A Little Tip: Next time you have a clear stamp sentiment, why not curve it as you place it on your block to create a curved sentiment like the one I have on this card? It’s a way to double up on the functionality of your stamps, add some interest, and even help you fit in long sentiments into a smaller space!**
Thanks for joining me today!
