{ Stamp Set: Mom & Dad }

Oh well! I had fun stamping this random polka dots. And then the struggle begins!LOL I just don’t know what to add after that, so many things coming into my mind. Should I do this or that? (Sigh!)…

And I ended up stamping those fun elements in different shades of green inks on a light grey cardstock. It’s with dimentionals too! I think green and pink are cute together! yeah?^_^

I hope you enjoyed my card today!^_^

Thanks again for joining me! Have a happy weekend!

Saturday Creations – {enjoy the journey}

I’m back with another Saturday Creation using the Journey Stamp Set:

Have you every purchased a stamp set because you wanted one of the stamps in particular?  I know I have!  Well there is one stamp in the Journey stamp set that fits that bill and can be used for almost any occasion:

~enjoy the journey~

I LOVE how “enjoy and journey” are in type set and “the” looks handwritten!  How Perfect this sentiment is for the going away card I made below:

Sometimes all you need is a FAB sentiment like this one, some paper with bicycles, and a wooden bicycle embellishment to make a really FUN card!

Oh and just one more tip ~ add something unexpected to create further interest.  How about a flower with some bling in the center to mimic the color of the wood and the wheels on the bicycle?!!  I think it just finishes this card.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by for another Saturday Creation!

Tuesday Idea | Smile

Well hello there! It’s Kim here to share with you one more project featuring the new Journey stamp set. I hope you’ve been enjoying this new stamp set. Not only is this set perfect year-round, but it’s especially perfect for this time of year with so many on vacations and traveling during the warm summer months. It’s the perfect stamp set to compliment your memories and summer smiles.

Sometimes, I like to create cards for my daughter. Just because I love small ways to show my love for her. That’s what today’s card is about. I just adore her smile and love to take as many photos of her as I can. I created this card for her to tell her to never let go of her gorgeous big smile!

I started this card by creating a background using the arrow border stamp. I off-centered each layer to create a fun pattern. Who says backgrounds have to be lined up anyway? To keep it fun, I added fringed fabric trim. So simple to create by cutting slits into the fabric and fraying the edges.

The camera has been paper pieced and colored with Copic markers. I created dimension by adding foam tape between each layer and finished it off with a small wooden heart. Colored pink, of course!

Now it’s time to give this card to my daughter before she reads this on the blog. It’s hard to be sneaky when your family reads your blog posts. ; )

Here’s to a happy Tuesday! I am so glad you stopped by today!

Inspire Me Friday {A Keepsake for Dad}

Hello everyone!  Hope this Friday is treating you well!  Geri here, with my last project using the new Journey set!  We celebrated my husband’s birthday this week and I was in need of a card, obviously.  I planned on utilizing some mini prints on a card my kids and I could give him together, but even mini prints were just to big for my card.  So…plan B was to go a little bigger and just kind of make it a ‘card in a frame’…sort of a mini scrapbook page.  I really wanted to use the film strip images with my photos and found a fun way to do that…

I don’t know about you but, I can never get away with taking only a serious family photo…we always have to take 2 or 3 goofy ones…I don’t even try to argue about it anymore.  So I heat embossed a couple of  the film strip/negative images on vellum and cut them out.  Then I cut those goofy little faces out of my photo and adhered them to the back of the embossed strips to show through.  I like that the vellum made the photos subtle enough that I could include them without taking away from the larger family photo.  The Chestnut embossing powder gave my filmstrips a fairly realistic color, too!  You can see I used the arrows and a couple sentiments from the Journey set…

…as well as sentiments from the Friends  and Love set, and the paint splatters from the Positive Thoughts set.  I also made a tiny little envelope to hold a miniature sized birthday greeting that includes the kids’ signatures inside.

When all was said and done, I had a special little keepsake in a 5 x 7 frame for Daddy to keep on his desk to remind him of his special day all year long.  (And I don’t think he’ll mind at all not getting a ‘card’ this year!)

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Hope you’re inspired and can find some time to get crafty this weekend!

Create It Wednesday: Journey Stamp Set Revisited

Click HERE for the 10 Min. Craft Dash post. Or simply click  the right side bar image —————————————————————————————————->

============================================================================================

Hi everyone! Ivana here today to share another project for Create It Wednesday.

A picture does really make every moment last forever, and I just love that this sentiment is captured in the beautiful Journey stamp set.

As much as I adore making layouts, cards are more my thing, and today’s project is a sort of a hybrid of a card and baggie pocket album that shows off the beautiful Journey stamp set. But whether you enjoy making cards or layouts, I think these stamps work so perfectly for both!

For me, this card is just a way to share a few photos with loved ones. I am so fussy about making sure that I send pictures of friends and family promptly, so that they have copies of the memories we create together. Although an email full of photos would suffice, I think a handmade card, with printed photos tucked inside would make for a much sweeter mailbox surprise.

For this card, I used a combination of pink, white and yellow printed papers. Layered over them, I added  a white cardstock base, which I stamped with the arrow motif along each side. I stamped a few pink stars at the top of the paper, and added stamped cut-outs of the sentiment.

To create the camera, I stamped the star design, in different colors on white cardstock, and then stamped the camera outline. After cutting it out, I added a little star die-cut to the lens, with a sparkly heart rhinestone.

A LITTLE TIP: Use outline stamps to create your own embellishments. All it takes is a printed paper ( or your choice of a stamped pattern on cardstock), followed by a stamped outlined image, such as this adorable camera. Then simply trim it out, and voila! You have a hand-made embellishment to add to your crafting projects. Of course, you can then add other little details, such as pearls, buttons, and die-cuts to embellish your little work of art. Whichever creation you make, you will end up with a little creation like no other, to add to your art.

Continuing on with the card, I added buttons and liquid pearls around the camera, for a bokeh effect, and finished the card by adding some trim to the side, and the rest of the sentiment just under the camera.

Next up, is the matching little baggie album. I can’t wait to pack this up and send it to my mom. I know she will be so happy to get it in her mail.

For the little baggie, I used a felt square layered over the scallop die-cut, and decorated with trim, buttons, and a stamped tag. To stamp the tag, I started with by stamping only the frame part of the stamp, followed by filling it in with colorful stars. I then, stamped the word “photograph” over the starry background.

I added some colorful buttons, and squeezed out a few liquid pearls to add a bit more dimension and whimsy to the pocket.

Thanks so much for joining me today!

Design It Monday ~ {Trends}

Hello, I’m so happy you stopped by for another Deign It Monday! I hope you’ve been enjoying all of the fabulous work from the DT using the new {Journey Stamp Set}. I sure have! I have one last card to share featuring this set. Today I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and try something a bit trendy. I’m not one to jump on the trend band wagon the minute it leaves the gate. I’m usually late to that parade!

Triangles and arrows are among all things trendy now. I’ve added this border stamp to my card on the diagonal with multi colors of ink. This is one of my favorite color combos! A Martha Stewart score board was used to line up the arrows. It’s the small one and I love the size! This was done by making very light pencil lines for the spacing. After the stamping is done, simply erase the lines. Using the score board again, I made score lines with the same spacing on the rest of the white panel. Before attaching the panel to the Aqua Mist card base, I tied some red button twine around it.

A bit of selective inking was done on the sentiment. It’s was matted with kraft card stock then added to the card with foam tape. My twine was fancied up a bit with a loopy bow! This card would be another great way to send a photo to a family member or friend.

Thank you so much for stopping by, we appreciate your visits!
