Design It Monday ~ {Inspiration}

Welcome friends! Isn’t it interesting where we draw our inspiration from as card makers. It might be a challenge graphic or a card from a fellow blogger, something as simple as a word and there’s always Pinterest. The inspiration for my card came from my son! He stopped by last week for lunch and I told him how handsome he looked!  He had on nice gray dress pants, a crisp button up shirt and a striped tie. After he left I had some time for crafting. The patterns in the new {Border Tape #1 } set reminded me of men’s ties. That very thought (along with my well dressed son!) was my inspiration for this masculine card.

I began stamping the images using smokey shadow ink that had been stamped off first for a softer gray color.  Once I had a large enough panel stamped. I die cut it with a notebook die. The ink spots came to be from me reminding my son not to let his rigatoni sauce splatter his tie! The sentiments are from the {Border Tape #1} set and the {Positive Thoughts} set. They’re both popped up with foam tape for added interest.

So just what inspires you to create?
