Create It Wednesday – {simplicity}

Hello PRS fans!!  Aren’t you just loving all the fantastic projects the design team has been making with the New Day set?  I know I am!   I have another clean and simple card to share with you using New Day.

 For this card I arranged the three circular images on my acrylic block and then stamped the cluster of images in three different inks (light blue, light green and light purple).  After stamping the images I added some clear sequins to each of the circles.   I don’t like to cut my clear sentiment stamps up and so in order to achieve the split sentiment I simply masked off the sentiment as needed, ink up each portion and stamp where I want it to go.  I finished off the card by adding some baker’s twine that closely matched the three ink colors that I used.

{Design It Monday} ~ Life is a beautiful ride!

Hello crafty friends, it’s time for another Design It Monday! I’ve paired stamps from our latest release, {New Day}, with some sweet October Afternoon paper. I love the colors in this paper!

Isn’t this a great sentiment? So many possibilities for this one. I’ve stamped it onto a die cut using pure poppy ink arching it on the acrylic block. Next I stamped the paint swipe over it with aqua mist ink, stamping off once first to give it a very subtle effect. Look closely at the centers of the large flowers. I stamped the small dotted circle from the set then punched it out with a hole punch. Don’t they look cute!

The largest dotted circle was stamped three times. Once each in pure poppy, aqua mist and harvest gold. The golden one was punched into butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch and the other two with a circle punch.

The cute coordinating die cut reminds me of myself when I was a little girl…a loooong time ago!! I had a pony tail (sometimes two!) with bangs and oh how I loved to be on a swing. So much in fact, that I’ve asked my husband to put up a porch swing on our back patio! Yes friends, life IS a BEAUTIFUL ride at any age.

look at the bright side – {Saturday Creations}

Hello Blog Friends!  Today I want to show you a 4×6 mixed media canvas I made with our new Precious Remembrance Stamp Set called New Day.

When I first saw this set, I thought how “artsy” it was and the possibilities just flooded my brain!  I thought the paintbrush stroke could be used for water or sky so that’s where I started.  I stamped it as a brick pattern (alternating the stamp pattern as I went down the canvas) using permanent ink, starting with the lighter blue for the sky and the darker blue for the water.

I then added clear embossing paste through a stencil to make what looks like water splats on the entire canvas (which is sadly impossible to photograph but looks so cool in real life)!  Look at the dark blue section and maybe you can see the water spots there???  It just adds another layer of texture.

Then I added the sun’s rays with molding paste I made yellow with paint.  I stamped the circle stamp in orange on a piece of tissue paper with words and colored it in with a yellow marker.  After I cut it out, I adhered it as the center of the sun.

I cut out a fishing boat I photographed on a vacation and glued it to the canvas.

To finish my little piece of “art, ” I die cut some clouds and stamped the FAB sentiment from this set directly onto them.  THIS could be MY motto because I tend to always look at the bright side!

Tip of the Day – Don’t limit yourself to just cards with this set!  For example, you could make a sky and grass background, add a flower, and make a totally different mixed media piece.  Just look at the bright side, get messy, and Have Some FUN with this Fabulous stamp set!

Project Thursday ~ Twine Flowers & A New Day

It’s Project Thursday and my turn to share another creation using the newest of the Precious Remembrance Shop stamp set – New Day

I’ve had a bunch of these twine flowers that I made sitting around just waiting to be used in a project.  I simply put a brad through the center of the flower and then attached it to the card.

Both cards were finished off with sentiments from the set.

Crazy simple, right?   Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Thursday!

Tuesday Ideas – There’s Something Good

Hi stampers and Happy Tuesday! Today I have my first project to share with you using the super sweet new set New Day. This set has some great elements to work with.

 Here is my card:

Sometimes you just have to think outside the box 🙂 For my card I used the larger two circles, and stamped them in various greens. To turn them into trees I used my Micron 03 pen, and did a little free hand drawing. One of the great things about doing free hand is it doesn’t have to be perfect. To give me a clean space for my sentiment I added a piece of patterned paper to the bottom of the card. Wouldn’t these trees be perfect for those hard to make masculine cards? Looking for a fall color scheme, change the colors to oranges and yellows. Oh the possibilities 🙂

I hope I have inspired you to use your stamps in ways they weren’t meant to be used. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Simplicity by: Annette Allen

Welcome Precious Remembrance Shop fans.. Annette Allen here with you today for a fun Guest Design post. I am super excited to be sharing with you today using the very fabulous New Day and Positive Thoughts.

I am all about color when it comes to designing. I believe that it brings smiles. It is a simple card but says a lot don’t you think? I love this sentiment from New Day and Positive Thoughts. Mixing the sentiments is one of my favorite things to do.

When I really want a sentiment to shine I will stamp it in color so it pops from the card but does not take from the other images just gets the point across. In this case I just wanted to send a smile. I also added some fun sequins to complete the blend of colors.

Thank you so much for letting me share today. I hope that I have inspired you to mix these fabulous sets and experiment with color. I believe there are no wrong color combos. The more color… the more smiles.

Happy Crafting!

Inspire Me Friday {Simplicity IS Beauty!}

(Well, I hope so, anyway!;)  Hello, everyone!  Welcome back for some Friday inspiration!  I have a super simple card that I HOPE you can find beauty in!  One of the sentiments in the New Day set says ‘simplicity is beauty’…often true, I think…even though I didn’t use that particular sentiment on my card.  I used the ‘smile, sparkle, shine’ with some silver embossing…

(…embossed like a dream!)  I had in mind to try it with some water coloring for an artsy look, and ended up using some paper from a favorite Pink Paislee pad that already had the water coloring done for me;)  I was much happier with that look, and once the embossing was done and the three simple stars were added, it just seemed done…

This sentiment with the sweet brackets just didn’t seem to need a lot of help!  And I didn’t feel that anything else I added would have added to the design in a positive way. Yep…sometimes simplicity really IS beauty…and we just need to leave it alone!;)  (I know…I know…you CAS lovers had that figured out a LONG time ago!)  And for the rest of you, while I know it’s simple…I hope there’s some inspiration to be found here for you, too!  Stay tuned for lots more inspiration using this sweet new set…~New Day~!!!

And…thanks so much for stopping in today!

Create It Wednesday – the bright side

Hello PRS fans!!  Isn’t the brand new PRS set “New Day” fantastic???  If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out right here.  My card today uses several stamps from the New Day set.

My idea for this card was born when I saw the fabulous card that Geri created for the New Day release hop.  I loved how she used the brush stroke image to create sun rays.  I used the same image along with several of the circular images to create a stylized sun flower.  I love how it turned out!!  After stamping all the “petals” in a bright yellow ink.  I stamped the circular “splatter” looking image in dark brown and then one of the dots in an even dark brown.   I added the sentiment, some tiny clear sequins, rounded two corners and adhered to the card base.  Super simple.

Design It Monday ~ {Artsy Layers}

{Giveaway winner annouced! Check it here.}

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a brush stroked, dotted, star splattered card! Now normally that might sound like a real mess!! But with Dyane’s trendy images from the {New Day} stamp set it all comes together in a fun display of artsy layers!

I started with the brush stroke image stamping it diagonally on a white panel in a variety of soft colors. Next I added the medium dotted circle using generation stamping. The starry splatter from the {Journey} stamp set was layered on followed by the sentiment. I pulled a variety of card base colors and let my hubby decide which one. I think he made a good choice!

I’m not a trendy person. By the time I get around to it it’s usually known as being “so last year”!! But with the fun mix of right on trend images in this new set, it’s easy to be trendy and okay to be different!

Thanks so much for spending a little time with us today. Stay tuned for more inspiration from our talented design team using this new set.
