Hello Blog Friends! Today I want to show you a 4×6 mixed media canvas I made with our new Precious Remembrance Stamp Set called New Day.
When I first saw this set, I thought how “artsy” it was and the possibilities just flooded my brain! I thought the paintbrush stroke could be used for water or sky so that’s where I started. I stamped it as a brick pattern (alternating the stamp pattern as I went down the canvas) using permanent ink, starting with the lighter blue for the sky and the darker blue for the water.
I then added clear embossing paste through a stencil to make what looks like water splats on the entire canvas (which is sadly impossible to photograph but looks so cool in real life)! Look at the dark blue section and maybe you can see the water spots there??? It just adds another layer of texture.
Then I added the sun’s rays with molding paste I made yellow with paint. I stamped the circle stamp in orange on a piece of tissue paper with words and colored it in with a yellow marker. After I cut it out, I adhered it as the center of the sun.

I cut out a fishing boat I photographed on a vacation and glued it to the canvas.
To finish my little piece of “art, ” I die cut some clouds and stamped the FAB sentiment from this set directly onto them. THIS could be MY motto because I tend to always look at the bright side!
Tip of the Day – Don’t limit yourself to just cards with this set! For example, you could make a sky and grass background, add a flower, and make a totally different mixed media piece. Just look at the bright side, get messy, and Have Some FUN with this Fabulous stamp set!
