Inspire Me Friday {the best gift of all is you…}

Hello, Stampers!!!  ‘The best gift of all is you!’  Isn’t that a sweet little sentiment to convey???  Well, I thought so and wanted to find a pretty way to show it off!  I had sparkly frame with a pretty little poinsettia embellishment in mind, but…unfortunately, I don’t own one!  (a poinsettia stamp, that is,…it’s on my list!)  So I looked through my stamps to see if I had another similar flower to use…no luck!  But I did find some leaves that I thought might work up into something pretty, and…the results weren’t too shabby…

It’s a casual little sentiment in the lowercase letters, but I dressed it up in gold to make it look special inside that pretty frame, and carried out the gold in my ‘faux poinsettia’;)

As you can see I kept this one super clean!  I love mixing and matching my stamps and the extra ‘mileage’ I get from doing so!  And it’s a great way to keep older sets fresh and fun!  Dyane’s sweet sentiments are perfect for it! You’ll find this most recent set, JOY, here in the shop!  Hope you like!

Thanks so much for stopping in!

{Create it Wednesday}… tis the Season

Hello PRS friends!!   Have you been enjoying all the fabulous projects that the design team has been creating using the new Joy stamp set?  I know that I have!!!  There is some serious talent on this design team!!  Today I’m sharing a little tag that I made with the set.

I started by die cutting my tag and then stamping the wreath slightly off to one side.  I love that the main image in the Joy set is one that has lots of different little blocks that can be stamped, trimmed out and used alone.   For my tag I stamped the “tis the Season” block, trimmed it out and popped it up on the tag.  I finished things off with two little glittery silver bells, some ribbon, twine and a bit more sparkly cardstock at the bottom of the tag.  It would be so fun to make this little tag using several different color combos.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you enjoyed my project today!

Design It Monday ~ {It’s all about the tag}

Hi there friends! It’s that time of year when those Christmas gifts begin to pile up waiting to be wrapped and tagged! After a gift is wrapped I love fussing with the ribbons, bows and making specail tags to adorn them. To me it’s all about making just the right tag for the recipient. No store bought tags for this girl! It’s also a great way to use up scraps of paper, ribbon, bits and bobs!

After die cutting a tag and a stitched circle, I stamped the wreath from the new {Joy} stamp set using Spring Moss ink. This was added to the plaid tag base with foam tape. Next I used a TomBow Brush Pen to “ink” up the Merry Christmas sentiment. I trimmed this out with angled ends, then added it to the wreath.

Several Queen and Company Twinkled Goosebumps were added for that wow factor! Then my tag was topped with snippets of leftover ribbon and a sweet little jingle bell. Now all I have to do is figure out just which gift this will be added to!

Saturday Creations – {JOY}

Today I am sharing another tag I made with the FAB new stamp set by Precious Remembrance called Joy:

The background was made using pink and white distress paints with gold stars from the PR Journey Stamp Set .  Once again I was going for an artsy look.  I LOVE pink and red together for a not so traditional Christmas look!

I randomly stamped Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year plus the Greetings sentiment from the Joy set.

I stamped JOY in red, clear embossed it, and fussy cut it to add to the wreath I stamped directly onto the tag.  I added white sequins and red seed beads to decorate the wreath.

Once again I cut up the sentiments from the huge stamp block.

The hi and the heart are from the PR Positive Thoughts Stamp Set ~ still one of my FAVS!

My tip to you ~ make some Beautiful tags with this JOY Stamp set to add some pizazz to your Holiday Gifts!

Project Thursday – Joy

It’s my turn to share a project using the newest of the Precious Remembrance Stamp Shop sets ~

Joy Stamp Set.

I again have kept it pretty simple using the Joy sentiment and a couple of die cut snowflakes.

The snowflakes have been coated in some white glitter for texture, and then I added a little twine bow to accent the sentiment.

Sometimes, I just really love a card with lots of white space – and I’ll admit, I like how quick and easy they are to make too.

Great if you need to “mass produce” for the holidays.

Tuesday Ideas: Creating a Simple Holiday Star

Hi everyone!  It’s Melissa here, back with another installment of Tuesday Ideas!

How many of you have ever looked at a stamp set and wished you could figure out ways to use it other than the obvious?  I had a light bulb moment recently with the new Joy clear set & wanted to share it with you today!  It occurred to me that I could single out a portion of the larger image in the set to create a unique and fun holiday card!

Who knew trees could be used to create a holiday star?!  I stamped and fussy cut five tree images and arranged them to create a star, popping them up for dimension.  I added gemstones to give it a little sparkle.  The sentiment is also a portion of the larger image in the stamp set, also cut out and popped up with foam dots.  Such a simple holiday card, but that’s a good thing with days seeming shorter and schedules feeling fuller!

I wonder if some of you have already figured out other unique ways to use this stamp set?!  I’d love to hear from you!

Until next time, keep taking these busy days one at a time!  The new year will be here before we know it!

{Crafty Sunday} tis the season with clay

The time has come to begin tackling the annual Christmas gift and card list.  What gifts to get, which photo to choose for the card, are there any handmade gifts to be made?  Taking it one day at a time.  Have you started your countdown?  Recently I have been posting ideas on my blog, specifically about clay.  Find it difficult sometimes to work with polymer clay so I am attempting air dry clay from Martha Stewart.  The project I am sharing today uses one of the star shapes I am working with.

Supplies: stamps, air dry clay, roller, cookie cutter, twine, hole making tool and twine.

Once the piece was air dried for over 24 hours I stamped the front using the newest Precious Remembrance stamp set, Joy.  Used the solid border stamp to create a subtle checkerboard background and the word “Joy” in a bolder pink.  Added twine and glitter for a complete embellishment or ornament.  Added this element to the card created using embroidery thread, cardstock and the stamp “greetings”.

This clay is very light weight and perfect for embellishments on project.  Actually quite amazed how well the stamping turned out on it.  Enjoy your day and tackling your Christmas list as well!
