Create It Wednesday ~ {Totally fabulous!}

What an awesome way to start my first Create It Wednesday as the newest member of this lovely and creative Design Team—having some fun in the art room creating with the newly released {Totally} stamp set! You definitely want to get your hands on this one 🙂 Today, I’m sharing some Gelli printing using this stamp set…yes, paint and stamps do mix!

Quickie How-To:

I squeezed a few tiny dabs of paint in random spots on my Gelli plate (I used Dina Wakley’s Heavy Body Acrylics), then lightly brayered the colors until I liked the mix. I then pressed the stamps into the paint directly on the Gelli plate. The trick to a nice clean print (which is so funny considering it is monoprinting after all lol) is to keep a baby wipe handy to remove all of the paint from the stamp before making the next impression…and perform a good cleaning after you’re done to keep your stamps in good condition! Next is “pulling the print”– I placed a piece of white cardstock on the plate and rubbed all over the back with my hand to get a good print and peeled it up from the corner. Viola! I heat embossed the sentiments with detail white EP on some craft cardstock, added some wooden stars (they look like the stars in the stamp set!), and handwrote “fabulous” and circled “really” with a Gelly Roll pen. I totally love that I can use my handwriting with this stamp set!
