{Inspire Me Friday} Let It Snow!

Hello, everyone!  It’s Judy here with my next inspiration project using the new release, Oh Christmas.  I am loving this set, how about you?

Today I went with a snow theme!  Using a blue note card, I embossed the sentiment “Let it snow” using white embossing powder.  Next, I embossed the card using a Cuttlebug “Snowflakes” embossing folder and added some sparkly “Star Dust” Stickles to many of the embossed snowflake centers.  I die cut some snowflakes using light blue glitter paper and Spellbinders snowflakes dies, placing them in a cascade along the side of the card.  Finally, I aded white enamel dots for some dimension and added color.

Create It Wednesday ~ {Oh Christmas}

Today, I’m bringing you a CAS (clean & simple) card using the new {Oh Christmas} Stamp Set. My card is really highlighting the heartwarming sentiment that comes with this stamp set. It has every design element you could possibly love—a heart, an arrow, script/cursive, varying font size, and presence!

I went with traditional holiday colors…and of course, some gold embossing! How to create this look:

  1. Create a window in a piece of red cardstock using a decorative frame. You could use a die or a cutting machine (I used a stock frame already loaded into my Brother Scan-n-Cut).
  2. Stamp and heat emboss the fabulous sentiment in gold embossing powder. Line up your open die cut over the sentiment and pop up with lots of foam adhesive.
  3. Heat emboss the pine boughs in gold embossing powder on green cardstock and fussy cut, leaving enough green to add some color to the card. Arrange and glue in place. Add some sequins for sparkle…the holidays always call for sparkle in my opinion 🙂

Tip: I stink at lining things up perfectly the first time. So when I cut windows for projects like this, I cut it on a much larger sheet of cardstock than I actually need, then line up my window. I mark where I need to trim my cardstock, and presto—a perfectly lined up window!

I hope you give this look a try for your holiday cards. The {Oh Christmas} Stamp Set gives you lots of creative options.

Thanks for stopping by…and go create!

Design It Monday ~ {Let it snow!}

Hello, Lisa here today! I’ve had so much fun creating with the new Oh Christmas Stamp Set. As I mentioned in my last Design It Monday post, I will be sharing cards and matching tags for all of my posts! First up, the card.

I pulled colors from the patterned paper (Crate Paper) for my focal panel. The stars were stamped in three colors. The lighter pink came from stamping the bright pink without re-inking. Coordinating twine and a jingle bell were the only accents needed!

For the matching tag, I used a die cut star. The top and bottom were masked off to stamp the stars. I added the star splatters from the Journey Stamp Set and a sentiment from the Sketchy Christmas Stamp Set that’s popped up with a thin strip of foam tape. Once again there are accents of coordinating twine and a jingle bell.

I like my traditional reds, greens and golds for Christmas. But once in a while it’s nice to mix things up a bit. Oh, and by the way…the sentiment ‘let it snow’. Nope, NOT ready for that yet!!

Saturday Creations ~ {let it snow}

What does a Florida girl like me know about snow?  What I DO know is that the FABULOUS new Precious Remembrance stamp set Oh Christmas inspired me to create this snowy tag and card for some lucky friend at Christmas!

First up is my tag:

000_4825First I stamped the words let it snow three times on the tag with Versamark and white embossing powder.  I wanted to make a resist so when I added the four colors of distress ink, the words would still stand out.  I also added some paper squares in three sizes from large at the top of the tag to small at the bottom.  They were left over pieces from a die cut that I knew I would find a use for.  They add dimension and unexpected texture to my tag.   I also added glitter just to the squares.

Then I spritzed the ink with water to make the streaky, drippy, pretty background.  The white dots of snow all over the tag are made from combining the dots from the Precious Remembrance Fall Colors Stamp Set on one stamping block, stamping with Versamark and embossing with white embossing powder.  To create the “snow” around the edge of my tag, I pressed the edges in Versamark and coated them in white embossing powder which I heat set.

And I just couldn’t stop there, I made a quick card with the same thought process:

000_4829But this time I used small iridescent snowflakes to make a flat Christmas card for mailing.  I stamped the sentiment the third time by masking the stamp.

I hope you like my snow inspired tag and card!  Thanks for stopping by!

Clean and Simple Christmas Card by: Stephanie Gold!

Hey everyone!! Stephanie Gold here and I am so excited to be guest posting on the PR blog today!! Has everyone ordered up their Oh Christmas stamp set yet? Oh my goodness, I ADORE this set. {See here for the first card I made with it during it’s release and the blog hop.} For this next card I wanted something very simple and light.
The Christmas sentiment is one of my favorites. I love the fonts!!! I accented the sentiment by creating a flowing stream of stars from one corner of the card to the other in red and pigment gold. Then I finished it off with a bit of seam binding as ribbon and scrunched it… I loved the simple turn out but if you like a little more action, you could easily add sequins, rain stones, or even some Wink of Stella.
Thank you so much for having me!!! I will be back soon with a couple more cards made with this lovely set. In the meantime, if you haven’t gotten your hands on one, you can find it HERE.
Much love! Xo, Stephanie

Tuesday Ideas: Framed

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with more Tuesday Ideas inspiration!

The Oh Christmas set is in the spotlight again this week and I created yet another clean and simple design for you!  This time, I used one of the pretty pine bough images to create a frame for the sentiment.

I stamped the pine boughs around the edge of the card, varying the height and double stamping each one to achieve richer color.  I then used a white glitter Wink of Stella brush to apply a layer of sparkly frost to the stamped images.  The sentiment was stamped in black inside the frame.  The main panel is popped up with foam dots for dimension.

If you’re looking for some quick holiday cards to make this year, this may be the design you need!

Until next time, happy stamping!

{Inspire Me Friday} One Layer Christmas

Hello, everyone!  I’m so excited to be here today to share my first clean and simple project using the new release stamp set, Oh Christmas!

I really love one layer cards…they are no fuss to mail and don’t tend to get damaged from all the post office equipment!  So, for today’s project I kept it clean and simple, making a one-layer card that would be easy to mass produce if needed.

I started with a white card and planned the placement of my sentiment and tree stamps using my Mini Misti.  First, I stamped the sentiment.  (Can I just say that I LOVE this sentiment?  I adore the mix of type and script!)  Next, I stamped the tree using two different distress inks together.  Finally, I embossed the border using a Sizzix tulip frame embossing folder, then added some red metallic gems and clear drops of Glossy Accents for some color and shine.

You could combine this sentiment with so many of the Precious Remembrance Shop Christmas stamp set images…the wreath, the trees, the branch sprigs.  I’m sure you can imagine ways to use this beautiful sentiment on your cards!

Thanks for stopping by today…I hope you enjoyed my card!

Create It Wednesday ~ Oh Christmas Elegance

It’s my first Create It Wednesday using the newly released {Oh Christmas} Stamp Set! I’m super excited to bring you today’s post showcasing this stamp set because it’s only the most awesome time of the year for crafting and sharing!

I wanted something elegant and CAS (clean & simple), so I did a little…ok, lots of heat embossing on black cardstock 🙂 The gold and red really say Christmas to me. How to create this look:

  1. Using a good embossing ink (like Versamark), stamp the pine sprigs down the side of the card to create half of a Christmas tree. Heat emboss it in gold.
  2. Repeat the process using one of the stars on red cardstock and fussy cut it leaving a bit of red border. Add a foam dot to the back for dimension.
  3. Using some patience, mask off the word “Christmas” in the sentiment and heat emboss in red as above, then repeat with the rest of the sentiment in gold.

My brothers and I always tell each other Happy Christmas and Merry New Year, so they were my inspiration for the sentiment. If you notice, I really did a little word swapping with the sentiment stamp and I love it. Those pine sprigs are so detailed they stamped beautifully, even layered.

 Thanks for joining me today and go create!

Design It Monday ~ {Bring on the sparkle!}

Hello! I’m back with a new Design It Monday post sharing two projects featuring the newly released Oh Christmas Stamp Set.

I’ve used this wonderful new sentiment on a tag as the focal for my card. Some vintage looking paper from Crate Paper provided the perfect background. I love to bring on the sparkle with my Christmas designs! This one has vintage tinsel, glittery scallops, and glamorous rhinestones!

I played follow the “sparkle” leader with the tag! In addition to the tinsel and rhinestones, I used a generous amount of Wink of Stella on the stamped images. I love that the letters on both of these sentiments are open so that you can color them in. I used a water brush and ink to give the word ‘merry’ a similar coloring to the patterned paper and felt holly leaves.

I love the way these turned out! In fact, I’ll be sharing a Christmas card and matching tag for several more Design It Monday posts ~ yay!! Until next time…
