Saturday Creations ~ {Wooden Gift Tag}

Hello Again and welcome back to another Saturday Creations!  Today I collaged a wooden tag with many layers to use on a birthday gift.

Here it is:

000_4873The tag is made of wood so it is a sturdy background.  I collaged paint, gesso, book paper and washi tape on the background.  The green is paint I smeared on with my finger and the black dots are actually part of a napkin!  The black around the edges is distress crayon.

I stamped the blossom from the PR Blossom Stamp set with black archival ink, clear heat embossed it,  and water colored the blossom.  It’s popped up and adds a lot of dimension to the tag.  Then I stamped the date from the PR Date Stamp Set and clear embossed it as well.  A little dyed seam binding ribbon, some lace at the bottom, and there you have it!  Secret – I loved this tag so much that I put MY birthday on it and it will be a gift to me!  LOL!

TIP:  Use water color paper because it is sturdy and can handle a lot of water and color and holds up well hanging off the side of the tag.

I hope this inspires you to purchase this new PR Date Stamp Set and create FAB projects of your own!

  2. Sue, this is such a lovely Tag! I can see why you’d want to keep it! The ribbon colors are gorgeous, I’ve always been a fan of pale pink, yellow and orange ever since I had a flowered light weight summer robe 50 years ago, lol…and I’ve been eyeing that sweet date stamp for awhile now!

Love the layers and all the artsy elements you used…I shudder at the thought of getting green paint all over my fingers, but you do it and gorgeous things happen!
