I’m wrapping up my Create It Wednesday posts using the new {Date Stamp Set} with some mixed media crafty goodness! I wanted to create a desktop monthly calendar for my craft room using this awesome newly released set. Here’s the finished product.
I started by using some spray inks…lots of spray ink lol…and a mix of several graphic stamps from other PRS sets {Happy Art and Positive Thoughts}. I stamped them in archival ink and colored them in with some heavy body acrylic paint in similar colors.
(Yes, I did have an art oopsie and had to recreate the background…more time to play right??) Next I marked the calendar grid on some acetate and stamped the days and dates with StazOn ink (made to use on non-porous materials). To mute the background, so the numbers would pop out, I cut a piece of vellum and ran it through my sticker machine and adhered it to the card. I repeated the sticker making with the acetate calendar I made…you don’t even see the adhesive!
I adhered a strip of plain white cardstock behind the days of the week then stuck it all on the “vellumed” background. I added a flag with the month and year and mounted my finished calendar with some removable adhesive to a media board for sturdiness.
I can’t wait to make one for every month of the year!! I hope you’ll give this a try. Thanks of joining me while I shared some ideas for using the new PRS {Date Stamp Set}.
