Inspire Me Friday {hello, spring}

Happy Friday everyone!! Easter is just around the corner and my kiddo will be on spring break next week!  With all that in mind I have a fun spring like card to share today that uses three different Precious Remembrance Shop sets:  Sketchy Alphabet, Positive Thoughts and Blossom.

Hello Spring 2

I started my card by looking through my vast supply of patterned paper and pulled out three different collections that were very spring like.  I ended up using a small grouping of papers that came in a card kit I bought last year and unfortunately I don’t remember what company they came from.  I cut down the teal paper with the polka dots to fit my card front.  The I stamped the flowers from the Blossom set in a medium pink ink on the pink gingham paper and trimmed them out.  The word spring was stamped with the same ink using the Sketchy Alphabet and trimmed out.  I have had this pretty doily border in my stash for ages so I used some of that in the upper corner.  I adhered the flowers and then added the sweet little teal buttons (from the PRS shop) to the centers.  The hello (from Positive Thoughts) was stamped in a dark gray ink, then I adhered the letters to spell out spring and adhered the panel to a pink cardstock base.   I love the slightly homespun feel that this card has.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Create It Wednesday~Spring Cheer

So glad you’re joining me for another Create It Wednesday.  Spring is definitely here in my neck of the woods, so I pulled out a pretty floral embossing folder, pastel Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and the wonderful PRS Sketchy Alphabet stamp set.

PRS DT Alpha One

I positioned the letters in my stamp positioner, but you could easily use an acrylic block.  I held the lid high enough to make a little dab where I wanted each color.  Then I used a waterbrush to pick up each color from an acrylic block & make the stripes.  The letters were stamped in silver, as I love how it looks with pastels.  I cut the piece into a rectangle and mounted it at an angle with foam tape to the debossed side of the white panel.  Little stickers come in handy for small sentiments like the word cheer I used here.  I decided a bit of sparkle was needed, so used glitter glue in the center of each flower.

PRS DT Alpha Close Up

Luckily, this time I didn’t do my usual messing it up before it dried–haha!  The card front was covered with a piece of soft, gray cardstock and it’s ready to mail.  I hope you’ve been inspired to make & send something cheerful for one of your friends.  Be sure to check out all the wonderful products in the PRS Shop and I’ll see you next time.

Design It Monday ~ {Bloom in Happiness!}

Hi there! I am so ready for spring, how about you? It’s officially here according to the calendar. But Mother Nature has been playing tricks on too many of us! So how about a little spring in the form of a card today.

Project_20180318_0004 copy

The design team has been given the task of creating words with the Sketchy Alphabet stamp set. As you can see, I’ve stamped the word bloom. Coordinating patterned papers were added to an aqua card base. They’re topped with a trio of  flowers from the Blossom stamp set that have been tucked into the small jar from the Oh So Fun stamp set. I did some masking on the stems so they would extend into the jar further. The blooms are colored with Copics and Wink of Stella was added to just the inner petals. Thick foam dots gave them tons of dimension! The other portion of the sentiment comes from the Blossom stamp set.

Project Thursday ~ Fun Projects With Bits and Pieces, Stamp Set, Buttons and Mini Doilies

Hello Precious Remembrance Fans… It is Thursday and time for Project Thursday. Today I have 2 projects to share with you that I created using the Daily Thoughts Bits & Pieces, Happy Art Stamp Set, Antique Gray Buttons, and Mini Doilies.

My first project is a mixed media tag. I started with creating the tag background. I used watercolor 140 lbs paper for the tag because I like it thickness and sturdiness, especially with I works with mediums and water. I added Distress Oxide Inks on my craft mat – one color at a time – then I sprayed with water and dip my tag. I dried the color each time I added color to build up the layers of colors.

After all colors dried, I added some water splatters on it and dabbed it off with paper towel. Then I added thin layer of white gesso around the edge using my finger. I dried it with craft heater and then I stamped the triangles and hearts from the Happy Art Stamp Set with Black Archival Ink Pad. I dried the ink again with craft heater.

Next, I added some gel medium to cover the tag with foam brush, added one of the Mini White Mini Doilies on top of it and then added some gel medium again all over it. This will glue and seal the doily on the tag. Then I added some more white gesso randomly on the tag.

Once the gesso is dry, I added one of the big cassette from the Daily Thoughts Bits & Pieces Set with dries-clear adhesive glue. Next, I added the word strips and stars on the tag with dries-clear adhesive glue and I added some mini staplers on them for extra accent.

I added the buttons strip on the tag with 3D foam tape for extra dimension. And I embellished the tag with more star and buttons. That finished the tag 🙂

And for my second project it is a Thinking of You card. The front card is a clean-and-simple design. I stamped the scribble and splatter images from Happy Art Stamp Set in the middle of the white card. Then I added the Thinking of You piece on it with 3D foam tape and added the stars with dries-clear adhesive.

And for the inside, I created this pop-up using this tutorial. For the back of the cassette, I trimmed a white cardstock that the same size with the cassette. I used one of the Mini Yellow Doilies.

I hope you all enjoy today’s projects post. Thank you for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Ideas {never give up} bag and tag

Welcome! It’s Kelly here! I’m back today sharing a new companion project that goes along with the project I made last time. I really liked how my card turned out, so I decided to make a coordinating bag and tag. To begin, I got to work stamping images from the DIY Stamp set and the Daily Thoughts stamp set onto a Flat Kraft Bag. These are perfect for all kinds of gift giving or even to use as an envelope for your card. I plan on using it to add a chocolate bar or a sweet treat for someone who is going through a hard time. They also work well for gift cards, especially the kind you find at the big kiosks at the store that have the large part with the hang tag. I hate taking those off, but they are hard to fit in traditional gift card holders! These flat bags are the perfect solution!

I used white pigment ink and black for a bold look. I just love how the sentiments from these two stamp sets mix and match so well. I always like adding a tag for some extra detail.

I ran some Kraft paper through my paper crimping tool and adhered it to the white base. I also embossed the feather onto vellum using gold powder. I used the “never give up” sentiment from the DIY set and the other sentiment is from Daily Thoughts. I used a large eyelet to secure all three of the layers. It is a great alternative to glue when using vellum. I also added a bit of Black and White baker’s twine. I think this project will complement the card nicely. Thanks for joining me today.

Inspire Me Friday – {Let the Music Play}

Happy Friday everyone!!! I have one last project to share using the new Daily Thoughts stamp set, as well as the new Daily Thoughts Bits & Pieces.   I have had so much fun creating projects with the Bits & Pieces that I used a couple more for today’s card!

PRS Doily Card

One of my earlier cards had this same little tag combo that I just love and so I decided to use it again.  I paired it up with one of the little doilies that you can find in the PRS store.   The background was created by stamping the little stars image from the Daily Thoughts set in a light gray ink on light gray cardstock.  I trimmed that down, adhered it to my card base and then added the doily and tag.  I finished things off with the black twine bow.    After I finished my card I realized that it has little things from each of the projects that I have made over the last two months!!  I hope you enjoy it!!

Thanks for stopping by… hope you have a wonderful day!!

Create It Wednesday~Celebrate

Hello everyone & welcome to another Create It Wednesday.  Today’s card uses two PRS stamp sets:  Daily Thoughts and Oh So Fun.  I began by trimming a white cardstock panel to the shape I wanted.  Then I white embossed the fun cassette tape and sponged with Distress Oxide twisted citron.  As you can see, I used a heavier hand inside the images.

PRS DT Mar 14

Next I stamped the little sentiment as the title for each cassette using the same ink.  A stamp positioner made it possible to stamp multiple times to achieve the intensity I wanted.  I filled in some of the blank space with the little star cluster.  The dots were done by touching the end of a waterbrush to the inked panel & blotting with a paper towel.  I stamped “celebrate” on the card front & then dry embossed for some great texture.

PRS DT Mar 14 Details sharper

The stamped panel was mounted with fun foam to finish off my simple birthday card.  I think the bright green is festive & works for a guy or a gal–especially someone not too young who loves music!  So glad you stopped by and hope you’ve found something to inspire you.  Be sure to check out all the wonderful products in the PRS Shop and I’ll see you next time.

Design It Monday ~ {Trevor Documented!}

Hi friends, Lisa here today! I’m sharing a fun little project using six Kraft/Flat Bags from the shop. This is for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. They’re retired and enjoying many outdoor adventures with their 2 year old grandson Trevor. This little project is something for them to record some of those adventures, tuck in a photo or two and maybe a pressed leaf or flower that sweet little Trevor discovers! Grab your coffee or beverage of choice, this is a photo heavy post!

Project_20180309_0002 copy

I began with a collection of coordinating patterned paper.

Project_20180309_0004 copy

Then pulled several stamp sets and items from a couple of the Bits & Pieces collections.

Project_20180309_0005 copy

I scored and folded the bags in half then punched holes to tie them together. The patterned paper wraps around to the back of the book bringing a sturdier feeling to the paper bags. Using the Sketchy Alphabet stamp set, I stamped and punched the letters for Trevor’s name. I’ve used stamps from Daily Thoughts, This Moment and Positive Thoughts on the cover.

This pair of inside pages features images from the Journey stamp set and the large camera (color altered with Copics) from Bits & Pieces: Journey.

Star clusters from Daily Thoughts and a couple of items from Bits & Pieces: Daily Thoughts  and Bits & Pieces: Journey jazzed up this page.

Project_20180309_0009 copy

This page is my favorite. I like how well the lime green and aqua in the patterned paper coordinated with the aqua from the Bits & Pieces: Journey items. I stamped a sentiment from the Daily Thoughts stamp set on a die cut banner.

Project_20180309_0011 copy

But then again, I like this one too! That glow around the stars on the paper is so nifty! I used the Positive Thoughts stamp set here.

Project_20180309_0014 copy

The left page has a pocket under the patterned paper. It’s decorated with sentiments from Bits & Pieces: Daily Thoughts.  The right page contains a sentiment from the Daily Thoughts stamp set.

Project_20180309_0019 copy

I slipped same file tabbed papers into the bag openings with more journaling spots. I used the Sketchy Alphabet and This Moment stamp sets on them.

And there you go. A fun little memory book for grandma and grandpa to fill with their cherished Trevor memories. Thanks so much for sticking with me!
