Hello! It’s Kelly here today sharing a vibrant card that uses the Coffee Love stamp set and the Positive Thoughts stamp set. I haven’t used the main images from the “Coffee Love” set yet, so I thought it would be fun to use it today! My cute sister gave me a gorgeous pad of pattern paper that I thought would work well for today’s design.
To begin my design, I got to work heat embossing the cup image using gold embossing powder. I find that it is very easy to do fussy cutting when you do heat embossing because the raised image gives you a nice guide, rather than just flat ink stamping. I guess I like it because it is a little more forgiving as well! {And it looks great, too!} I embossed it a second time onto the black pattern paper and fussy cut the lid and then center portion. I wanted to have two coordinating patterns for this cute cup! I also heat embossed the word “enjoy” onto the coffee cozy.
It is important to use the right scale of pattern depending on the size of your image and I thought these two patterns worked nicely. I brought in a third, larger print to use as part of the background for today’s design. I ran it through my paper crimper to give it that “coffee cozy” vibe. It also provides great texture and dimension. I thought that the cup looked perfect nestled in between the floral print. I also used two of the additional images from the “Coffee Love” set above and below the corrugated floral piece.
I stamped the circle images from the “Positive Thoughts” stamp set because they added extra detail, but also because it reminds me of the ring that a cup would leave behind. I also stamped the “You inspire me” sentiment in black along the bottom of the card base. I am finding that I need more and more of these cards to send to all of the amazing people in my life that encourage me to be a better person! I hope you enjoyed today’s card.
