Altered Crate Using the Everyday Stamp Set

Happy Friday stampers! Every now and then I get bored. Sometimes, I don’t want to make cards or layouts. I just want to play with my paints and stamps… It is during these times that I will search for things in my house that no longer inspires me; something that I can paint and stamp on to bring new life to the object. I  am excited to share with you a crate that I’ve had stored inside a closet for some time. I decided to make it new again with some fresh paint and some stamps!

Here is my crate from 7Gypsies before I applied the paint. What a difference the paint makes!

I applied two coats of paint to the crate. Once the second coat was dry, I added a different color for the strip in the middle of the crate.

Once this coat of paint was completely dry, I stamped some blue chalk ink onto the multi-heart stamp that is apart of the Everyday Stamp set and stamped across the middle of the crate, being careful not to smudge the ink.

Here is a close-up photo of the hearts. Isn’t this lovely? I am so pleased with how this altered crate turned out. I will be able to store several of my Precious Remembrance stamps all in one spot, on my desk. 🙂 I figure, If I have them all in a nice little crate on my desk, I will see them and want to use them all the time because they will be within reach.

How are you storing your stamps these days? I am always looking for ways to keep my stamps organized! And don’t forget, Precious Remembrance Shop offers plastic sleeves to store all of your stamps. They are much thicker than the packaging and they look so nice!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Altered Canvas Mini Book by: Nicole Martel!

Good morning friends. My mom has been making hints that she wants a mini book. It’s been awhile since I made one for her…so since she has been feeling a bit down, I decided now was a good time. I can’t wait until she sees it. I love how this beautiful book came to life.

For this mini, I decided on a color scheme which included teals, browns and white colors, washi, buttons, paints, spray inks and stamps so that the album would flow nicely. Also, throughout the mini, I used Precious Remembrance Shop’s “Little Things and their Everyday Stamp Set).

I painted several pieces of chipboard frames and shapes using acrylic paint. Then once the paint was dry, I used a variety of stamps and ink to make the chipboard pieces come to life. I made washi paper from the polka dot stamp strip for some of the pages. 🙂

Here is a look at some of the pages on the inside.

The chipboard page was created with the Every Day splatter stamp. I used the same stamp over the chipboard flower to make it more interesting.

On this spread, you can see how I created my own washi with a stamp, ink and paper. 🙂

I altered this chipboard page with a few more stamps. 🙂 Those tiny hearts are adorable. LOVE them.

I painted this black foam sticker using two coats of paint so it would match the album.

This is one chucky baby and I absolutley love how this turned out. I hope my mom loves it as much as I do.

Design It Monday ~ {Special Delivery}

Hello stampers! Lisa here today sharing one more Valentine featuring the Happy Mail stamp set. I had a little fun with some patterned paper on this one. Take a look…

19 0207 004 copy

This card began with the soft pink and white striped paper. Adding a repetitive sentiment from the Happy Mail stamp set, along with the teeny single heart from the Sweet Pea stamp set, created a fun background for my focal sentiment (Thanks stamp set). I die cut a heart from coordinating PP adding the arrow (Happy Mail) to the background. If you look closely, there’s a tiny bit of the arrow added to the heart to give the look of it piercing through. The circle sentiment is popped up with foam tape for added interest along with a little sparkle from a trio of sequins.

Wishing you a wonderful day, thanks for visiting.

Scrapbooking Layout: Real Life by Nicole Martel!

Hello everyone. It’s been REALLY cold…like in the 20’s and I’m ready for summer or if I could go back to Florida for a few more weeks, that would work. LOL

Maybe, that’s why this layout is full of bright colors. I have sunshine on my mind. Lots of bright, neon colors to be exact. Neon colors are not my thing, but I had these neon inks in my stash so I thought, let’s use them to create a fun, bright and happy layout!

What do you think of this background? Neat, huh?! I totally lifted another layout I created a few weeks ago. I love this design with all the circle stamps in the background. It’s a little time consuming, but so worth it!! I used Precious Remembrance Shop’sLittle Things” stamps and a few Happiness Paper Snippets.

As you can see, I’m a messy stamper… but with a few baby wipes, have my mess cleaned up in no time.

I used Bad Girl’s Couture Haute Mess acrylic paint to create a green strip at the bottom. Love the name of this paint… It’s called Drama Queen. 🙂 I placed a scrap piece of paper above where I wanted to paint my strip then used a brush to smear the paint at the bottom for a smooth finish.

I used some more paint (first crush)similar to the coral ink to color the musical note paper. It had pink splatters and I wanted to change the color to make it blend in with the colors of the stamps so I painted on the splotches. I’ve been focusing on finding new use for my old stash and it’s been great!!

I added a few paper snippets at the top to help frame the layout a little better. The bottom part of the layout seemed a bit heavy so I tried to balance out the layout a bit.

I had some die cut frames and tags in my stash that I manage to tuck behind the photos. I love embellishments… they are addicting.

More paper snippets and embellishments at the bottom. I used a tiny star punch to punch out a star so the white would peek through. Then I added the star at the top of the layout. I like stretching my embellishments as far as I can.

Here are a few more close ups.

What do you think? Are you ready to dig out your stamps and paints to create a bright and cheery layout!? Thanks so much for visiting!

Scrapbooking Layout: Life is Good by Nicole Martel!

Hi all! I’m back again with another layout I created for Precious Remembrance Shop. This was one of those layouts that I couldn’t stop adding stuff… I kept felling like it was missing something. In the end, I’m happy with it!

For this layout, I used the “Little Things” stamps and the “Today” Paper Snippets. I pretty much stuck with the color scheme from the snippets! Aren’t they adorable? I especially love the little frame and the triangle stamps!

For the background, I stamped several of the cluster of triangles in three different colors on white cardstock. I tried to keep the colors similar to the snippetts!

I stamped the “too cute” circle onto white cardstock then traced it with a black pen since the “too cute” was hard to see with the light blue. Then I used scissors to cut the image out and adhered it to the layout using a foam square.

I totally love these paper snippets! Seriously, they are so much fun to play with.

I added a few jewels here and there…just for fun.

I pulled the “Merry Christmas” die cut from my stash because I felt that the layout needed more black to tone down all the pink and green. 🙂 I think it worked!

At the last minute, I decided to add the circles that I traced using Creative Memories’ Circle Cutting System to help frame the cluster of photos and embellishments a little better. Then I added the jewels around the circle to add dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you find this post inspiring!
