Mixed Media Layout by: Nicole Martel

Good morning! I have a question for my friends who enjoy playing with stamps. What excites you about stamps? Meaning, what drives you to buy a particular stamp set? When you’re looking for a stamp set, do you automatically search for a specific theme? For me, I look at the word phrases and shapes. The theme of the stamp does not matter much to me.

For instance, I bought the School Days Stamp Set because I have a 9 year old son and quite a few photos of him doing homework etc… that I could scrap. But, I really just love the big “thanks” word script and the tiny words! That is what drew me to this collection, not because I was looking for Back to School stamps. 🙂

My sister just adopted this adorable puppy from the Colorado SPCA. I just love his little ears! He is going to be a big dog!

To begin, I used the “thanks” word script and some black ink and stamped a few rows using the stamp over and over again on white cardstock to create a fun background for the layout. I really like the VersaFine Clair ink. The images come out super crisp!

Isn’t that font amazing? I need an stamp set with script words like this. Seriously, it is beautiful.

Initially, I was going to keep the top part black and white, but after I started embellishing the layout, I felt that I needed to add some spray mist at the top so the colors are easier on the eyes.

If I had known I was going to use mist, I would have sprayed the mist first. Then I would have stamped the images so the ink would be more vibrant, but I still love how it looks.

I am still working on using up my stash. I am determined to use up a good amount of my stash before I shop for some newer collections. 🙂 It’s hard, but I’m going strong! I used a good amount of Pretty Little Studio and Pinkfresh Studio products on this layout. Two of my favorite companies.

I love using a variety of tags, tickets, banners and flags on my projects. They are totally fun!

I painted the bottom of the layout using Bad Girls Couture’s Haute Mess Acrylic Paint. LOVE this color. It’s sooooo pretty. This color looks great with the blues and turquoise and pinks.

Loves of layers and textures. Swoon

I used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to spray the paw print twill to give it some color.

Design It Monday ~ {Spring}

Hi there! I hope all of you who celebrate Easter had a day filled with happiness and joy, We were blessed with a lovely family day. Lots of food, lots of fun!

Spring is definitely in the air here in Ohio. That was the inspiration for today’s card where I’ve used the Happy Art and Sketchy Alphabet sets.

Project_20190410_0004 copy

I started by stamping the scribbles (Happy Art) on a leaf die cut then dry embossing it with a flower petal embossing folder. The tag is popped up with fun foam. Next came the letters (Sketchy Alphabet). They were stamped with Versa Mark ink, heat embossed in gold, then punched out.

The final touch of spring came in the form of vellum butterflies. I stamped the splatter image (Happy Art) onto the vellum then punched the butterflies. It’s bright , cheerful and in the hands of a dear blogging friend!

Planner Spread by Nicole Martel

Good morning! I’ve been documenting my plans for July. It looks like I don’t have much going on so far except for my sister’s annual 4th of July party and Edward is going to cooking camp for a week which means he will be staying with my mom… and I’ll be childless for the entire week! 🙂

For this planner spread I used the DIY Stamp Set and the Date Stamp Set. Also, you will find a few buttons from the shop. Aren’t they beautiful? I love them. I used the heart die cut from the Totally Bits & Pieces and a few Happiness snippets.

Love that “DO it yourself” stamp with the ink splatters! It’s beautiful isn’t it?

I used a few stickers from the Oh So Fun Sticker Set too.  I cut it down so it would fit on the planner nicely.

Here is a closer look at the Date Stamp Set. Loving the font! I decided to use only black ink for the stamps so the images would really stand out.

I added a few cloud die cuts from Paige Evan’s Whimsical collection.

I cut the “Less work, more play” from one of her patterned papers. It’s perfect!

As I get closer to July, I’m sure I will have more stuff to add. I love how this spread has just enough stamps, stickers and embellishments, allowing just enough space for plans as well.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Design It Monday

Hi PRS friends, Lisa here today! I have a fun masculine card to share featuring the Happy Art and Sketchy Alphabet stamp sets. Lets get to it!

Project_20190406_0004 copy

My thought process was to make a wreath from the splatter image (Happy Art). I began with the large circle (Happy Art) stamped with light gray ink. Using the same ink, I stamped four splatters trying to keep even intervals. I followed suit with the green, then light and dark aqua inks. I liked the way it looked but thought the open triangles would add even more interest. It’s personalized with numbers (Sketchy Alphabet) for a birthday, but a sentiment would look terrific in the center too.

Finally I adhered some light gray patterned paper to ground the image. It also brings out the light gray on the front of the card a bit more. And well, if you know me, you know I like patterned paper!!

Mixing Stamps

Hi everybody. Today I’m sharing a layout I created using two different stamp sets and papers and stickers from Studio Forty! Before I started this layout, I went through my stamps, searching for word phrases and shapes that I wanted to include on this layout. That is one thing I love about stamps; you can use them for any project. They are great for when you are limited on embellishments too!

I really love the tiny trio of hearts in the Sweet Pea Stamp Set so I wanted to try to find a way to use them. I decided to add a row of hearts at the top, next to the flowers as well as the bottom of the layout. They add a nice touch.

I fussy cut the flowers from patterned paper and then layered them together using foam squares.

I used the paint splatter stamp from the Happy Art Stamp Set to add some splatters and scribbles. This is my favorite stamp set from Precious Remembrance Shop. Here is a closer look at the scribbles and paint splatters. 🙂 Aren’t they fun?

DSC_1144

I used the “Love you” sentiment stamp from the Sweet Pea Stamp Set for the title of my layout. Love this font!

DSC_1146

I added a variety of scraps, tucked behind the photo to add dimension.
