Happy 4th of July! – Celebrate Card

Hello stampers! Are you guys ready for July 4th?:) I know most of you are pretty much done preparing for the party celebration.  I have a celebrate card to share, pretty easy to make.^_^

Now, let’s jump onto the process of this card.♥

  • I started with a white card base (I know right? where’s my kraft?lol). I stamped my “fireworks”  and stars using, guess what?:) Little One stamp set. cute!^_^ Blue and red inks and you’re done!
  • But I wanted my card to have a softer look. And I was going back and forth whether to add it or not, you can’t probably tell from the photo, but I ended up adding a vellum.
  • I barely use vellum in my projects, I found it challenging to stamp (unless I embossed on it, then it’s ok with me.^_^). But whatever, I’ll give it another try anyway. So……
  • I added a clear glue on every edges of the cardbase, and put my vellum on top of it.
  • After cutting the excess vellum around, I distressed the edges using the broken china distress ink by ranger.
  • And here comes my favorite part , stamping on vellum! (yeah right?lol)
  • Using the same distress ink, I grabbed my borders from Christmas and Positive Thoughts stamp sets. Carefully I stamped each one of them. Wheew!
  • I then stamped my sentiment “celebrate” from the Birthday stamp set. I added a piece of scrap paper at the bottom for some interest.
  • I stamped more stars as well randomly on the vellum. Now you can see the difference between the softer and the sharper stars.
  • Lastly, I thought it would be fun to add some staples around, so that’s what I did!♥
  • Hooray! I did it! I call it done!^_^

Have a happy holiday! Thanks for joining me today. Don’t forget, Join us on Friday July 5,2013 for our new stamp release + giveaway!

Enjoy the day!

Hello stampers!^_^ Oh my, say hello to July!:) Hmmm… what should we do this month guys? It’s about time for our next release!  Join us this Friday, July 5,2013. Get to see our newest collection + giveaway!^_^

But before that, let me share a couple more cards with you. I always have a stash of birthday cards around. But since I’m running low of that, It’s time to make more! Here are the cards I made.^_^

{My images and birthday sentiments are from our Birthday Stamp Set. Loooveee.♥}

If you’re wondering about the papers that I used here, It’s my old Martha Stewart School days 12×12 paper pack, adorable collection!I believe it came out 2010, not quite sure. Since the paper is meant for scrapbooking, there are fun frames included for pictures. I have a lot of extra left, so I thought to used it for my cards.

That’s pretty much it from me today. I hope you enjoyed my quick post.♥

Thank you so much for stopping in, and I’ll see you on our next projects!^_^

Have a great day!

Tuesday Ideas {water color embossing}

Welcome to a new Tuesday Idea! It’s Kim here to share with you a fun stamping technique using water colors and heat embossing.

For today’s project, I am using the flowers, polka-dots, and diagonal border from Mom & Dad and a sentiment from the Birthday stamp set.

To create the look, I started by stamping a background using the polka-dots and diagonal border on the base of my card. Next, comes the fun part. Water colors and embossing. This part can be a little messy, but that’s half the fun, right?

I grabbed a piece of wax paper from my kitchen and squeezed a few drops of bright pink Winton oil paint. To replicate the texture of water color paint, I added a few drops of water to the mix to thin the paint. Next, I used the paint mixture as ink and stamped the large flower directly into the puddle of paint, then on to my card. To speed up the drying process, I used a heat gun to avoid any paint runoff or smudges.

Next, I used VersaMark watermarking ink to stamp the flower again directly over the water color image. While the ink was still wet, I added white Zing embossing powder and set it with my heat gun. I just love the texture and feel of the embossed stamping. And with the two tones of color, it really adds something extra special to your stamping. Don’t you think?

To finish my card, I used one of my favorite sentiments from the Birthday stamp set. Isn’t that handwritten font so sweet? I then topped it off with a layered bow, twine, and a pretty button.

I hope you decide to give this stamping technique a try. It can get a little messy, but remember…keeping your heat gun close by keeps it under control and makes it so pretty when you’re done.

Happy stamping and thanks for joining us today!

Create It Wednesday {celebrating you}

Celebrating the sentiment today.  Whether you add it to your project as a border or create the perfect sentiment, they definitely make a statement.  In today’s card and box set, mixing and matching sentiments is a favorite with Precious Remembrance stamp sets.

Used several sets including Friends, Birthday, Thanks and Love stamps to create something special.

The box is bordered using the “thank you” border stamp from the Thanks set.  A label created from stamping cardstock , cutting out the label, distressing the edges with ink and scoring along the middle to create the fold.  Marked the “x” using the number one from the Calendar set as well.

How will you use your sentiments today?  Thank you for stopping by for Create It Wednesday and hope you enjoy your day!
