Tuesday Ideas {Celebrate…it’s your day!}

Hello friends, it’s Kelly here to share a fun birthday card I’ve been working on using the Oh So Fun stamp set as well as the ever-useful Sketchy Alphabet! I love how playful and fun they look on today’s card! I stamped the letters onto some pattern paper and then added some Crystal Glaze to give them the look of epoxy stickers you can buy. That is why I love stamps so much, because you can make as many as you want and you never run out! You always have the letter you need!

The jar image is stamped onto both the pink paper and then again onto the alphabet/number pattern paper and then fussy cut. I added it on top of the pink panel using foam squares. I combined a few of the included sentiments onto a coordinating strip of pattern paper. I added some Rose Quartz buttons on either side for some added detail.

I added another one of the included sentiments at the top of the card base as well as the cute little banner/triangle images. I did some straight machine stitching at the top as well using gray thread. I love how bright and cheery this birthday card came out! Thanks for stopping by today!

Design It Monday ~ {Two Peas!}

Hello friends! Lisa here today with another installment of Design It Monday. Once again highlighting the Sketchy Alphabet stamp set, I’ve paired it with the Sweet Pea stamp set. Check it out!

The color scheme for this card was based on the pretty little yellow doily. These (along with blue, pink & white) are available in the PRS shop. I framed the pea pod in a Polaroid die cut then added it to the card along with a selection of coordinating decorative paper. Using selective inking, I added the ‘two peas’ sentiment. Next came the Sketchy Alphabet letters. After stamping and coloring (Tombow Marker) the letters, I punched them out then added them to the card with foam tape.

Easy peasy ~haha, see what I did there!

Tuesday Ideas {Happy Mail}

Hello Friends! It’s Kelly here with a fun way to dress up a handmade envelope! The Happy Mail stamp set has so many amazing images that work so well! To begin, I used an envelope template to trace and score my handmade envelope onto a pretty piece of pattern paper.  I stamped the “Please Deliver to:” sentiment onto a piece of pink cardstock. Because I didn’t have a particular recipient in mind, I chose to add an all-purpose “YOU” sentiment using the Sketchy Alphabet.  The “Happy Mail” seal is heat embossed using gold powder onto a piece of black cardstock and then punched out using a 1 inch circle punch. I adhered that to the envelope flap using a foam square.

The back of the envelope is dressed up using some additional images from the “Happy Mail” set stamped onto a die cut heart. Hearts and love notes aren’t just for Valentine’s Day…everyone needs some Happy mail once in a while!

I used the embossed circle again on the back in place of a stamp. I DID use the stamp and cancelled image on the heart as well. I just love this set! I hope this has given you some ideas on how you can jazz up the outside of your envelopes! Have a wonderful week!

Design It Monday ~ {Bloom in Happiness!}

Hi there! I am so ready for spring, how about you? It’s officially here according to the calendar. But Mother Nature has been playing tricks on too many of us! So how about a little spring in the form of a card today.

Project_20180318_0004 copy

The design team has been given the task of creating words with the Sketchy Alphabet stamp set. As you can see, I’ve stamped the word bloom. Coordinating patterned papers were added to an aqua card base. They’re topped with a trio of  flowers from the Blossom stamp set that have been tucked into the small jar from the Oh So Fun stamp set. I did some masking on the stems so they would extend into the jar further. The blooms are colored with Copics and Wink of Stella was added to just the inner petals. Thick foam dots gave them tons of dimension! The other portion of the sentiment comes from the Blossom stamp set.

True happiness blooms from within. For me, card making makes that happiness continue to grow and bloom. Through the years those blooms have turned into a garden full of card making blogging friends! Have a delightful day and thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Ideas {never give up}

Hello and welcome! It’s Kelly here and I’ve got an inspirational card to share with you today. I combined a few sets to create a card for someone who may be going through a hard time. To begin, I embossed the feather image from the DIY Stamp set using gold powder onto vellum. I also embossed a few of the outline star images from the new Daily Thoughts around the feather for some added interest and detail. The smaller  sentiment, which is also from Daily Thoughts, is stamped onto the vellum using Jet Black StazOn ink. I like using this particular ink because it is a solvent ink and it won’t smear on the vellum.

The arrow or chevron image is gold embossed as well onto a strip of coral colored cardstock. I trimmed it down to fit nicely over the vellum piece. I did some loose, messy watercoloring onto a panel of cold pressed watercolor paper and then ran it through my crimping tool for some added texture. I did some creative gluing on the back of the vellum, applying glue on top of the gold stars, the feather, under the coral strip and under the “w” on the word “when”. Once I had the glue in place, I adhered it to the corrugated panel. I applied pressure here and there so that it all stayed in place.

The “never give up” sentiment is stamped in white pigment ink onto  a strip of black cardstock. I added this to the vellum piece using foam squares. This entire focal panel is adhered to a piece of Kraft cardstock that has another embossed detail. I wasn’t planning on using a third set for this card, but I just LOVE the small detail that these horizontal lines give the side of the card. This particular stamp is from the Coffee Love set. I added a few clear sequins, which also have glue under them to hold the vellum to the corrugated piece. The finishing touch is a bow of black and white Baker’s twine, which gives it another pop of black! I actually added the “never give up” sentiment over the top of the tail of the twine to hold it in place.  I love how soft and pretty this card turned out…just perfect to give someone for a bit of encouragement!

Design It Monday ~ {Volume!}

Hey there stampers, Lisa here with another Deign It Monday post! I have a CAS card to share with you today featuring the Daily Thoughts Stamp Set.

The title for my cassette tape was created using the Date Stamp Set. I jazzed up portions of the cassette with a silver Gelly Roll pen and Wink of Stella.

What is U2, you might be wondering? That would be the name of one of my favorite music groups ever. I have a CD in my car that I play just about every time I’m out an about. I love a warm day when I can have the moon roof open, all windows down and the volume UP!! I’m courteous when other driver’s are close, but crank it up when I’m on the open road LOL! Yep you might say I ‘enjoy the moment, and let the music  play’…with volume!

Project_20180108_0002 copy

Turning up the glitz volume, I embossed the stars (Daily Thoughts Stamp Set) with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I had not intended to have the sentiment on a banner. But, I dropped my stamp block and had to adapt and overcome!

Your CAS cards can speak volumes with just a pop of color and a little sparkle. The added bonus is that you don’t need extra postage for a flat card!

Tuesday Ideas {that moment}

Welcome! It’s Kelly here with my latest installment of Tuesday Ideas! I’ve had this idea rolling around in my head for quite a while, so I am excited to share it with all of you! Last time, I shared with you a fun idea for using acetate, and I’m back at it again, but this time I’m also incorporating Shrinky Dinks! I knew that I wanted to stamp the film strip image from the Journey Stamp set onto acetate using Jet Black StazOn ink. I also wanted to incorporate many of the larger images from the set into my design. This would have been impossible with such a small card, but by shrinking them, I have the perfect, tiny embellishment!

The images on the Shrinky Dink pieces are all from the Journey stamp set as well. I created this card to send to the photographer that took my daughter’s head shots and performance pictures when she performed in The Nutcracker this past Christmas season. I can’t wait for her to get it! I really think she will like all of the details that I included on the card. The “click click” and “smile smile” images are heat embossed on the card using gold powder.

I absolutely LOVE how perfectly the “that moment” sentiment complements this design. It, as well as the black sentiment stamped along the film strip, is from the newly released Daily Thoughts stamp set!  It is also embossed in gold for maximum shine! The film strips are stapled to the card and then I added a small pink bow to cover them.  I had so much fun on this design!

Design It Monday ~ {Lack of Color!}

Hello and welcome! I have a card lacking in color for you today. Wait, what? No, I haven’t lost my mind, I’m just sharing a black and white card!

18 0107 006 copy

I started with a black panel then heat embossed the sentiment using Versa Mark ink and white embossing powder. All of the words come from the Daily Thoughts stamp set. Combing the words from the set to create a customized sentiment is super easy with the Misti. Don’t you love the mix of fonts!

18 0107 007 copy

I added the Xs border (Thanks stamp set) and a strip of die cut hearts to balance out the design. I popped this onto my card that had been covered with a panel of black and white patterned paper.  It still seemed to be needing just a little something else. The tiny winking face from the Coffee Love stamp set filled that void perfectly!

Just because a black and white card lacks color, doesn’t mean it has to lack personality! Thanks so much for popping into the PRS blog. We always love hearing from you.

Tuesday Ideas {Thinking of You}

Hello friends! I am thrilled to be back with my second installment of Tuesday Ideas! I have a quick card to share with you. I chose to use black and white with just a pop of color! I’m completely in LOVE with this jar from the Oh So Fun stamp set! They are so versatile for so many occasions! I chose to stamp the smaller jar using black  StazOn ink onto a piece of acetate and filled my jar with Simply ButterSoft Pink, and Light Mint buttons. I love how they look behind the acetate. I used a zig zag stitch on my sewing machine to adhere the acetate onto the card. I also stamped a few of the triangle images onto the side of the card from the Oh So Fun set as well. The Daily Thoughts set paired up so nicely for this design! I love all of the small sentiments as well as the larger ones! I added a strip of pattern paper at the bottom to bring it another pop of color.  I hope I have given you a few ideas of different ways to use your stamps paired with acetate!

Create It Wednesday~Let the Music Play

Welcome to another Create It Wednesday.

Today I have a black and white card for you made with the new Daily Thoughts stamp set.  Yes, we still have an old boom box & cassette tapes that hubby uses in the garage!

PRS Daily Thoughts B&W

I started by stamping the cassette tape image randomly across a black panel in Delicata White Shimmer ink.  The trio of stars was stamped in a visual triangle to add interest.  There are so many encouraging sentiments in this stamp set.  I chose one that reminds us it’s good to pause in our busy lives and enjoy the moment.  I love how it goes perfectly with the cassette image.  Tiny black splatters give the sentiment strip a bit less contrast with the black.

  PRS Daily Thoughts B&W sentiment

See the 2 little stars to the right of the big one?  There’s enough space to ink just those 2 and that’s what I did for the left side of the card.

PRS Daily Thoughts B&W side

It ties everything together and makes the black panel pop.  Be sure to check out all the great stamps and other products in the Precious Remembrance Shop store.

Happy Stamping!
