Fragile Layout by Nicole Martel

Good morning stampers. Nicole here with a fun mixed media layout I created using the Happy Mail Stamp Set and New Day Stamp Set. For this layout, I decided to use bright, happy colors to make the photos pop a little bit. Because these photos were taken in a dark room, the photos were a bit grainy, but I still wanted to use them to share this special memory!¬†Back in February, my sister took Edward to a local pottery place for his birthday. Rather than buy him something he didn’t need, she wanted to do something special with him and they had a blast!

To begin, I sprayed the background using a lime green and blue spray inks. Then, I used a lime green and bright blue ink to decorate the background using the splattered circles.

These little splatters are fun. Initially, I was only going to use a few, but then I decided to add a variety, diagonally across the layout.

The little sentiment box is the cutest! I just love it. ūüôā

I used a few stickers, tags and other embellishments to decorate the layout. I really like the pink with the lime blue and green. It adds the perfect touch!

Design It Monday ~ {Special Delivery}

Hello stampers! Lisa here today sharing one more Valentine featuring the Happy Mail stamp set. I had a little fun with some patterned paper on this one. Take a look…

19 0207 004 copy

This card began with the soft pink and white striped paper. Adding a repetitive sentiment from the Happy Mail stamp set, along with the teeny single heart from the Sweet Pea stamp set, created a fun background for my focal sentiment (Thanks stamp set). I die cut a heart from coordinating PP adding the arrow (Happy Mail) to the background. If you look closely, there’s a tiny bit of the arrow added to the heart to give the look of it piercing through. The circle sentiment is popped up with foam tape for added interest along with a little sparkle from a trio of sequins.

Wishing you a wonderful day, thanks for visiting.

Design It Monday ~ {To: You From: Me}

Hello and welcome to another installment of Design It Monday! I have a scrappy little Valentine to share with you today. Take a look…

19 0122 003 copy

Like so many of you, I have bits and pieces of patterned papers that are tiny but too pretty to throw away. I cut some of those coordinating bits the same width, adhered them to a cardstock panel, then cut it to size. This was added to a white card base. Next I stamped the splatters (Positive Thoughts) using Versa Mark ink then heat embossed them in gold. The trio of envelopes (Happy Mail) were water-colored before fussy cutting. The {To/From} sentiments are also from the Happy Mail set but the {You/Me} are from the Totally set.

The month and day were made with the Date stamp set. You could easily customize this card for any occasion.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Design It Monday ~ {Happy Mail}

Hi friends, Lisa here today! I hope your new year has gotten off to a great start. Now that the holidays are behind us, it’s time to start thinking about those Valentine projects. I have a fun treat bag for you today.

19 0110 001 copy

I have a recipe for some jumbo cookies that fit into the Plain Kraft/flat bags perfectly. My mom and dad are fond of them, so I thought I would whip up a batch, tuck some in the bag and deliver them some happy mail! To decorate the bag, I started with some patterned paper. Next came stamped and fussy cut images from the Happy Mail stamp set. I added some arrows from the set to the PP. I cut one of the Mini- Yellow Doilies in half adding one piece to each side on the back of the PP panel. Before attaching this to the bag, I stamped the heart trio image from the Happy Art stamp set.

Here’s a close up of the detail I like to add to the postage stamp image. I use a tiny hole punch along the edges to give the stamp a realistic look. Too cute! And how sweet are the envelopes stamped on PP, love them!

Inspire Me Friday – {Happy Birthday}

Hello and happy black Friday everyone!  Rosemary here with another Inspire Me Friday post using the very versatile Everyday stamp set.   Today I have combine the Everyday set with the super fun (and also very versatile!) Happy Mail stamp set to create a birthday card.

birthday letters 2

The starting point for my card were some lovely winter themed 6×6 papers that I found in my stash.¬† I pulled out the soft gray/green gingham piece, stamped it three time with the envelope image from Happy Mail using a gray/green ink that was several shades darker than the paper and then trimmed out the envelopes.¬† Lucky for me there was a strip of the woodgrain pattern that had the same soft grey/green in it that I could use for my design.¬† I trimmed the piece down a little bit to fit my card front and then stamped it with the little hearts background image from the Everyday set with the darker ink. ¬† A piece of off white cardstock was adhered to my kraft cardstock base and then I adhered the stamped panel.¬† Up in the left hand corner I stamped a sweet little postage stamp image and the cancellation lines in a light gray ink.¬† The envelops were adhered to the card front with foam dots. ¬†¬† The sentiments from the Everyday set were stamped on some kraft paper in VersaFine CLAIR Nocturne, trimmed out and adhered to finish off the card. ¬†¬† This is a more feminine design, but it could definitely work for a guy by switching up the colors and papers. ¬† Precious Remembrance Shop is having a Black Friday sale so make sure you check it out!

Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Create It Wednesday~Time for Tags

You’ve probably noticed there is a lot of tag making in blogland right now.¬†¬†I joined in the craze using 3 Precious Remembrance Stamp sets:¬† Everyday, Happy Mail and Oh Christmas.
PRS DT Tag Much Better sharperThe sketchy circle from Everyday was white embossed on the large die cut tag to make snowballs.  Team member Lisa came up with that idea and I love it!   Distress Oxide Faded Jeans was used for the emboss resist technique and tiny white dots were added with a pen.   I stamped a branch from Oh Christmas at the top and bottom of a smaller tag using Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio.  The words from Happy Mail were stamped with Faded Jeans and I attached the small tag to the large one using foam tape.  Luckily, this piece of ribbon was just the right color and the dots tied in perfectly.  I thought a bit of sparkle was needed, so finished off with a glittery white dot.  Now I just have to buy the perfect gift!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in the US and I’ll see you next time.

Design It Monday ~ {Special Delivery!}

Hello, hello! Need a little break from your Thanksgiving and Christmas card making? How about something with a touch whimsy today. I remembered this cute paper with all of the little houses and the wheels were in motion!

18 1115 003 copy

First up was the gray panel. After die cutting it I stamped the hearts image from the Everyday stamp set around the edges. I layered on the die cut house paper then added this to the aqua card base.

18 1115 001 copy

The focal element for my card was created with a cluster of images. The envelope (stamped with hearts from the Everyday stamp set) and Happy Mail circle are both from the Happy Mail stamp set. The sentiments added to the picket fence are also from the Everyday and Happy Mail sets. And finally, to kick the sweetness factor up a notch, I added a trio of Rose Quartz buttons.

Thanks for spending a bit of your day with us!

Tuesday Ideas {Merry and Bright}

Hello! It’s Kelly here today with my very first Precious Remembrance Shop Christmas card! I just love all of the Christmas stamp sets, but the “Merry & Bright” image from the¬†Oh Christmas stamp set¬†really caught my attention as the focal point of today’s card! I love adding Pink to the traditional Red and Green Christmas colors!¬† I heat embossed the “Merry & Bright” image using gold powder and then colored it using Copic markers.

I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the top and then added some Tinsel glitter to the tops of each letter to look like they had gotten a dusting of snow! I’ve had this glitter for YEARS, but it has certainly already made a presence in many of my Christmas designs this season! I stamped the perimeter of a 4 by 5 1/4 inch piece of white cardstock using the two evergreen bough images included in the set. I also added Pink and Red Nuvo drops here and there to mimic berries. I tied a bow of Red Baker’s Twine onto the Merry and Bright piece for some added detail.

I stamped the “December 25” image in black and colored it with Copic Markers in pink and green. Then I heat embossed the “Happy Mail” image from the¬†Happy Mail¬†stamp set slightly ove rthe top. Once that was done I was able to add the Crystal Glaze and tinsel glitter to this portion as well.

I layered it all onto a Pink card base for an extra pop of color! One of the best parts, which isn’t shown, is the darling “handmade” image from the Happy Mail set, that looks like a bar code! I love adding that detail to my cards! I hope you’ve enjoyed this fun and bright¬† Christmas design!
