Tuesday Ideas {I love school!}

Hello! It’s Kelly here with you today! I can’t believe school is about to start! It seems like I was JUST making thank you cards for my boys’ teachers and here I am making cards for their new teachers! I like getting all kinds of supplies like Kleenex and wipes to give to them at Back-To-School night and a handmade card attached is  a MUST! Am I right?  I created this set of cards using the ever-adorable School Days stamp set as well as the Little Things stamp set.

I stamped the school bus image using black ink and then colored them using alcohol markers. I also added some crystal glaze to the headlights and windows for some realistic shine.  The “I love school” sentiment is stamped in white onto black cardstock. I also stamped the “you are amazing” sentiment in black onto white and then I attached it to the side of the black cardstock.

The “A+” circle is embossed using gold powder and attached using foam squares. I always like adding some embossing for extra shine. The red polka dot image from “Little Things” is stamped directly onto the Kraft card base. I used my MISTI so that I could get a crisp, saturated image. I also added some zig zag stitching using my machine. If you don’t want to see it from the inside of the card, you could do it on a separate piece and then attach it to the card base. I had a lot of fun putting these together! This was the last thing I needed to do before the kids go back so I am set! I hope this inspires you to get your own “Back-to-School” card put together!

Project Thursday ~ Mixed Media Artist Trading Cards

Hello everyone one… Helen is here. It’s Project Thursday time… And today’s project is a set of mixed media Artis Trading Cards that I created using stamp set, bits and pieces, paper snippets, buttons, and VersaFine Clair Ink Pads from Precious Remembrance Shop.

On these artist trading cards, I used the Little Thing Stamp Set and the Coffee Love Stamp Set.

I stamped the triangles from the Little Things Stamp Set on tissue paper using VersaFine Clair Nocturne (Black) Ink Pad. This is a pigment ink, so it will take time to dry. I set it aside to dry while I was working on the cards.

I used watercolor paper 140 lbs for the artist trading cards. To create the background, I use the ink smooshing technique with VersaFine Clair ink pads and Staz-On All-Purpose Stamp Cleaner Spray. Since these ink pads are oil-based inks, water won’t work with them. But the stamp cleaner works like magic!

The Ink Pads I used on these card backgrounds are:

First, I dab a little bit of the ink on a craft mat, then I spray it with the Staz-On All-Purpose Stamp Cleaner Spray. I smooshed the watercolor paper in the ink. I did one color a the time and then dried them with craft heater tool.

I added thin layer of my homemade texture paste using palette knife on each card. This way give some texture on them and muted the colors a little bit.

After the texture paste dried, I added the pieces of stamped tissue papers on them using gel medium.

Once these cards dried, I added each of them on purple cardstock mat, green cardstock mat, and orange cardstock mat. After that I hand-stitched couple of the edges with white embroidery thread. And I added them again the last 3.5″ x 2.5″ card mats with strong adhesive glue. Lots of layers… I know!!!

Next step, I stamped the cup from Coffee Love Stamp Set with VersaFine Clair – ParadiseVersaFine Clair – Green Oasis, and VersaFine Clair – Summertime. I fussy each of the cup with micro-tip scissors.

On this first artist trading card, I added the blue cup. I added the XOXO word from Bits & Pieces : Love Coupon. I secured it on the cup with mini stapler. I added the cup on the card with strong adhesive glue. I added the sentiment from Little Things Stamp Set that I stamped using VersaFine Clair – Nocturne (black) on a white cardstock, trimmed it into paper strip, and doodled the framed around it with Faber-Castel PITT Artist Pen. I embellished this card with some of the Sweet Lavender Buttons.

On the second and third artist trading cards, I did the same steps that I used to create the first card above.

I also used one of the sentiments from Little Things Stamp Set that I stamped using VersaFine Clair – Nocturne (black) and one of the card from the Paper Snippets : TODAY. I embellished it with some of the Baby Blue Buttons.

And on this third artist trading card, I used one of the cute little cassettes from Bits & Pieces : Daily Thoughts to embellish the cup and the sentiment is from Little Things Stamp Set that I stamped using VersaFine Clair – Nocturne (black). I trimmed the sentiment paper and added on the cassette with adhesive glue. I embellished it with some of the Light Mint Buttons.

For finishing touch, I added some of white gesso on the edges of all the artist trading cards with my finger for extra distress look on them.

Thank you so much for stopping by today… Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Ideas {Celebrate your day!}

Hello! It’s Kelly here today sharing a bright, citrus-y, summer design with you! There’s something so fresh & cheery about green, orange, and yellow, don’t you think?

To begin my card, I stamped the polka dot strip image from the Little Things stamp set in green, orange, and yellow. I used my MISTI stamping tool to get the stamp properly aligned and it helps me get a nice saturated image. I left just enough room between each color so that I could stamp the long sentiment from the Oh So Fun stamp set in black ink.

The jar and the sentiments inside are all stamped in black as well and are from the Oh So Fun set as well. I used a ribbon spool and lightly traced around it so that I could get a curved shape to create the banner in the upper right hand corner. The little triangle shapes inside the jar and the banner pieces are also from the Oh So Fun set.

I also added half of a Mini Yellow Doilie using some glue. I just love the extra detail it gives the card. I also used a few of the little splatter images from the Fall Colors set. I thought it made the card look a little juicy! LOL! I also added a few Nuvo drops to the banner and a few of the splatters for extra detail. The “LOL” circle is also from the Little Things stamp set and is stamped in black. Thanks for joining me today! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Inspire Me Friday – {too cute}

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you had a lovely week!  I’m stopping in today with one last project using the new Little Things stamp set.  My niece recently let us know that she is expecting a little boy in November and with that in mind I thought the Little Things stamp set would be perfect for making a little boy inspired card!  Simply change the colors to create this card for a little girl or to make it gender neutral.

too cute

My sweet friend and fellow design team member, Greta, sent me a lovely card for 4th of July and in that card she included some sweet little die cuts in a square and circle format.  I pulled out one of the circular images from the Little Things set and saw that it fit perfectly inside the circle.  I stamped the Too Cute image on the die cut with a medium blue ink.  The polka dot strip was stamped using the same blue ink and then I stamped the large triangle image, as well, but only after stamping off once so that the triangles are very light in color.  I die cut the panel and then adhered the panel to a cardstock base that matched the ink I used.  The circle was adhered along with some sweet little blue buttons that can be found in the PRS shop.

I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Project Thursday ~ Monochromatic CAS Card Set

Hello everyone… Helen is here. Today, I have a set of monochromatic, clean-and-simple card set to share with you all. It is very simple and quick to make them.

I go with white and kraft color theme for this card set.

For the background, I use the DIY Stamp Set. I stamped feather and splatter dots on 4” x 5.25” kraft cardstocks with VersaMark Ink Pad, and I added some super fine white embossing powder, then heat set them with craft heater.

I distressed the edges of the background cardstocks with distresser tool (or you can use scissors for this technique).

I added all of them on A2 white cards (4.25” x 5.5”) with permanent adhesive runner.

I stamped the sentiments from Little Things Stamp Set on white cardstocks using similar ink pad to kraft background. After stamping them all, I trimmed them with paper trimmer into sentiment strips. And then I added them on each card with 3D foam tape to give little dimension to the card.

I like make card set as gift to others. How abouy you? Do you like giving handmade gift?

I hope you all like this project… Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful week!

Create it Wednesday~A Little Something

Thanks so much for stopping by to see my project using PRS Little Things and Coffee Love stamp sets.  I began by stamping the fun circles from Little Things multiple times using VersaMagic Persimmon and Pink Grapefruit.  Glad I still have all my punches as it was a quick way to cut them all out.  I folded the top of the Plain White Flat Paper Bag and attached the circles across the bottom.

PRS DT July Pkg

Next I made a matching tag big enough to decorate the rest of the bag.  The smaller tag was dry embossed with a polka dot folder and I swiped the edges of the larger one with the Persimmon ink pad.  Then I attached the tags together and added the circles across the bottom.

The sentiment from Coffee Love was stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate on a white scrap.  I used a piece of Washi as a mask so I could add the Pink Grapefruit ink to the top and bottom edges before adding it to the tag with foam tape.  Finished off with a white grosgrain bow and now my summery gift bag is ready to give a friend.  Hope I’ve inspired you to check out all the great products in the PRS shop.  See you next time.

Design It Monday ~ {Look at the Bright Side}

Hello! I’m back with a final card featuring our newest stamp set, Little Things. I’ve shown various ways to use the polka dot border and several of the sentiments from the set. But today I decided to focus on the triangles to create a masculine card.

Project_20180627_0005 copy

I stamped the large triangle image several times on strip of white paper. I turned the stamp in different directions then filled in with the teeny triangles where needed. This strip was layered under the two gray panels for depth. The gray panels each received a stamping of the triangle cluster using Versa Mark ink. My sentiment (New Day stamp set) was stamped with Versa Mark ink as well, then embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. Once these three pieces where adhered together, I added them to the card base with a layer of fun foam.

Thanks so much for checking out my card, have a great day!

Tuesday Ideas {You make me Happy!}

Hello, friends! It’s Kelly here today sharing this festive, vintage inspired design using some fabulous stamps and accessories from the shop! With the holiday coming up, I thought it would be fun to create something patriotic!

I created this design by using the Little Things stamp set paired with the versatile This Moment stamp set. I just love how the bullet point images are perfect to create little flags! I also couldn’t resist adding one of the sentiment strips from the Paper Snippets: Happiness. I love the extra color and detail it added to my design.

To begin, I stamped the polka dot border image from Little Things onto a piece of Kraft cardstock. I used my MISTI so that I could get a nicely saturated image. Once that was done, I did some zig zag machine stitching along the edge. It really adds dimension and detail, even to a stamped image rather than a piece of paper.

I cut and scored the paper medallions and secured them with hot glue. I just love the muted colors in the paper that give the project that vintage feel! I also stamped the “remember this” and “good times” pieces using the This Moment stamp set. I sandwiched a mini white doilie between the kraft piece and the Aqua card base for some extra vintage charm. A few buttons attached here and there finish off this design! I hope you all have a fun and safe holiday and hopefully I’ve given you some festive inspiration!

Inspire Me Friday – {a big hug}

Happy Friday everyone!  Can you believe that June is almost over? Crazy, I know!  I’m popping in today with a bright and fun little card that combines one of my favorite PRS sets, Fall Colors, with the newly released Little Things.

big hugs 2

I started my card by stamping two of the leaf images from Fall Colors in watermark ink on watercolor paper.  I heat embossed the images with white embossing powder and then did simple watercoloring using a medium green ZIG marker and clean water.  I let the piece dry and then trimmed it down to the size I wanted.  I trimmed a piece of yellow cardstock to the same size and then adhered it behind the watercolor piece as you see.  I stamped the polka dot strip image from Little Things in yellow, the sentiment in VersaFine CLAIR Nocturne (my favorite black ink and available in the PRS store!) and then trimmed it down.   A piece of white cardstock was trimmed to fit my card base and then I stamped one of the small triangle images along the one side as you see leaving space for the sentiment strip.  The image panel was adhered with foam tape and then I added the sentiment strip.  Everything was adhered to a bright green cardstock base.
