Welcome to Saturday Creations where I have masked several of the stamps from our PR Oh Christmas Stamp set to create my sentiment:

I decided to go with the non-traditional colors of pink and green just to mix it up a bit.  I used oil pastels to watercolor the background and stamped a wreath from the PR Joy Stamp set with Versamark and embossed it with leaf green embossing powder:

000_4865Some twine and pink mini pearls were the perfect compliment.

The word Merry was heat embossed and then colored in with a pink marker.000_4866Can you see how I masked the sentiments to make it work?

TIP – Use a marker to add ink to one word – in this case Christmas – to get a good crisp image.

Design It Monday ~ {Joy}

Hi there PRS friends! Don’t you just love the new Sketchy Christmas Stamp Set? I have a Christmas card for you today using one of the smaller trees. I’ve paired it with a sentiment from the previously released Joy Stamp Set.

I stamped the tree on a kraft panel using Versa Mark ink then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I created a border on the panel with a PPP Stitched Border die. Next I dry embossed decorative paper then added it to a kraft card base. A small strip of plaid paper (PPP Stitched Borders die) adds a bit of interest without being too flashy! The sentiment tag was die cut with a PPP Stitched Tags die from polka dot vellum. I used kraft ink and clear embossing powder for the sentiment (Joy Stamp Set). A tiny wood star and a simple enamel dot finish things off.

Saturday Creations ~ {JOY tags}

I’m all done with my Christmas cards so I decided to make some tags with the Precious Remembrance JOY Stamp set:

The Precious Remembrance Joy Stamp Set is so versatile and makes the Cutest artsy tags.  I swiped some paint onto these “office look” tags from Hobby Lobby and then stamped the wreath and my all time FAV stamp JOY!

Here’s a close up of each one:

Besides, the paint, I used a small red ink pad to swipe red on the tags as well as distress around all of the edges.

The stamp with Merry Christmas and Happy New Year makes a fun stamped border!

Red tulle tied around the bakers twine  is an extra added detail…

and the lace at the bottom just finishes it off!

Here I want you to see how I stamped the wreath in green and immediately dipped it in clear embossing powder.  Enough sticks so when you heat it, the wreath becomes super shiny.

Then I added some red seed beads for the holly berries and my tags are ready to put on my special gifts!

Joy Stamp Set, Project Thursday

Project Thursday – Joyful Tag…

I just recently ordered some last-minute holiday crafting supplies and they included these silver tags and the die to cut these tiny little stockings. I’ve been anxious to use them and for my final Project Thursday of 2014, I decided to go with a simple little gift tag.

I die cut some tiny printed red paper for the stockings and adhered them so they pop up on the tag.  Kept it all really basic using the Joy stamp from the Joy Stamp Set.  To finish it off I added some silver/white twine.  That’s it!  I’ve been so busy lately that I’ve been struggling to find the time to sit and create – I hope things slow down so I can put more time into my paper and stamps!  Lol.

Tuesday Ideas: A Last Minute Holiday Card

Anyone that still has holiday cards to make, please raise your hand!  Christmas is just over a week away and it’s crunch time on our craft tables.  If you figure in the time it takes for mail to reach its recipient, that figures out to be less than a week to finish up those cards and get them ready to go to the post office!

I’m here today to show you a really quick, clean and simple card idea that takes only minutes to make!

Using the Joy stamp set, I stamped the wreath image and the JOY sentiment side by side on a panel of white cardstock.  I dressed up the wreath with some simple red gemstones and added a touch of sparkle with a Wink of Stella brush marker.  The panel was then popped up, off center, using foam dots and I was done!  How’s that for a quick and easy, last minute holiday card?!

Inspire Me Friday, Joy Stamp Set

{Inspire Me Friday} Masking sentiments…

Hey, everyone!  It’s great to be back!  Remember this little sentiment from the JOY set I used last time I posted???

Well, on today’s card, I’ve used that same sentiment in a totally different way…by masking and re-stamping…

Some sentiments are easier to mask than others.  This one is easy since there’s adequate space between the lines of words…no letters overlap from one line to the other.  So I masked the top and bottom lines with post-it tape and stamped the center line…cleaned and then masked and stamped two more times to get the top and bottom lines of the sentiment.  As you can see…I wanted space to glue in the tiny hearts, which spread the whole sentiment image and allowed me to add some interest in the tiny pops of heart colors…turning the originally small sentiment into more of a focal point…

The lower die  and hearts are from Simon Says, and the rectangular dies are old Spellbinders.  And this card???  Well, I guess it’s a CAS reminder of a way to get a little more mileage from your stamps…by masking!!!

Create It Wednesday, Joy Stamp Set

{Create it Wednesday} – wishing you…

Hello PRS fans!!   Christmas is right around the corner!!  I’m here today with my last post using the fabulous new Precious Remembrance Shop set Joy.   I love that the main image in the set is so very versatile.  You can stamp it has a whole image or stamp and trim out portions.  For my card today I did the latter.

I started by stamping the little tree using two shades of green ink (Memento Bamboo Leaves and New Sprout).  After stamping I trimmed out all the little trees and set about creating my scene.  I die cut the little hill and adhered it with foam dimensionals to the white cardstock piece that I had partially embossed with a dotted embossing folder.   I then arranged the little trees on the hillside.  It was at this point I realized I had created a problem for myself.  I had failed to stamp the sentiment before adhering my hillside!   Yikes!!  I knew it was risky to try to stamp the sentiment on a piece of cardstock adhered with foam dimensionals so I decided to stamp the sentiment strip, trim it out and adhered it as you see.    After adhered the main piece to my card base I applied Crystal stickles to the trees, random dots and the hillside.

Design It Monday, Joy Stamp Set

Hello and welcome! How are those Christmas cards coming along? Today I’m sharing an idea for an easy one using stamps from the new Joy set.

After stamping and trimming out the large multi sentiment image, I added some Glitter Gelly Roll pen accents. The aqua card base was covered with a die cut vellum panel then topped with some decorative paper. After wrapping some pretty twine around the card, I topped it with my stamped piece. Finally came the focal made from two die cut snowflakes and shiny rhinestones!

That’s it, quick and easily mass produced. Better get busy Christmas is a mere 17 days away!

Saturday Creations ~ {the best gift of all is you…}

Are you busy making Christmas cards for all of your friends and family?  I know I am and I would like to show you a card I made with the new Precious Remembrance stamp set Joy for Saturday Creations:

I am in LOVE with the word “Joy” and it’s cool font!  I used “JOY” on all of my Christmas cards!

But on THIS card, I popped the banner so I could make a small tag and include another of the FAB sentiments in this FAB stamp set:

This is how it looks when you pull the string on the tag.

I also added some twine around the sentiment to match the twine on the tag.  It’s the little details that make the big impact!

Christmas Stamp Set, Joy Stamp Set, Project Thursday

Project Thursday ~ Season’s Greetings

Project Thursday came back around pretty quickly for me – super busy this time of year.  I can’t believe that Christmas is right around the corner and 2014 is almost gone……

I’ve been wanting to use the wreath from the newest set – Joy Stamp Set.  I stamped it in a soft green and added some red pearls to the holly.  It’s hard to tell from the photo, but I also added some glitter to it to make it look like it has collected a little snow.  Then I finished it up with a red twine bow and used a sentiment from last years Christmas Stamp Set.

That’s it!  CAS just as I like it!
