Inspire Me Friday {hello, spring}

Happy Friday everyone!! Easter is just around the corner and my kiddo will be on spring break next week!  With all that in mind I have a fun spring like card to share today that uses three different Precious Remembrance Shop sets:  Sketchy Alphabet, Positive Thoughts and Blossom.

Hello Spring 2

I started my card by looking through my vast supply of patterned paper and pulled out three different collections that were very spring like.  I ended up using a small grouping of papers that came in a card kit I bought last year and unfortunately I don’t remember what company they came from.  I cut down the teal paper with the polka dots to fit my card front.  The I stamped the flowers from the Blossom set in a medium pink ink on the pink gingham paper and trimmed them out.  The word spring was stamped with the same ink using the Sketchy Alphabet and trimmed out.  I have had this pretty doily border in my stash for ages so I used some of that in the upper corner.  I adhered the flowers and then added the sweet little teal buttons (from the PRS shop) to the centers.  The hello (from Positive Thoughts) was stamped in a dark gray ink, then I adhered the letters to spell out spring and adhered the panel to a pink cardstock base.   I love the slightly homespun feel that this card has.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Project Thursday ~ Thinking Of You Card Set

Hello everyone… Helen is here today. I have a set of Thinking of You cards to share with you that I created with two stamp sets and buttons. When I make a set of cards or mass-produce, I like to go with clean-and-simple style 🙂

First step I created the watercolored backgrounds. I scribble some of the Aquamarine Spectrum Aqua marker on a piece acetate and sprayed with some water. Then I used that acetate to stamp directly on the front of the white cards. I did it couple time to create the layers and dried it every time I added layer of color.

Next step is creating the flowers. I stamped the petals and stalks from Blossom Stamp Set on patterned papers with Versafine Onyx Black. Then I fussy cut each of them with micro-tip scissors. I added the flowers on the cards with dries-clear adhesive glue.

After all the flowers added on the cards, I stamped the sentiment from Daily Thoughts Stamp Set with the same ink pad using Mini MISTI. And then I embellished cards with some Simply Butter Buttons. And the cards are done… here are the close up of the cards:

I love having any type of cards ready in my card box whenever I need them. What type of cards do you like to have them ready in your stash whenever you need it? I hope you all can enjoy this post and inspired to create today.

Thank you so much for stopping today! Have a wonderful day!

{create it wednesday} … watercolor

Hello PRS fans!!  Rosemary here today with my final post highlighting the new Blossom stamp set.   Ever since I received this set from Dyane I have wanted to create a card that uses watercoloring because I think this set was made to be watercolored!!   Well… today is the day!  I recently purchased a set of Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor paints and used them for my card.   They sure are lovely to work with!

After watching a couple of videos showing how to use the paints I got to work.  I stamped the small jar image from Oh So Fun using VersaFine Vintage Sepia and then added the flower and stem using the same ink on Ranger watercolor paper.  I taped the panel to a small wood cutting board with painters tape and colored up the image.  Taping the panel down and leaving it that way to dry cuts down on warping that can occur as the panel dries.    Once the panel was dry I cut it down using a rectangle die with a little dotted border and added the sentiment using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.   I added little drops of Glossy Accents to create the look of condensation on the jar.  Here is a detail shot of the droplets:

Tuesday Ideas: A Little Dimension

Hi everyone!  It’s Melissa back with another installment of Tuesday Ideas and this week, I’ve got another simple idea for you using the beautiful Blossom set!

Do you have some patterned paper stashed away somewhere?  This set is perfect for using it on the blossoms!  I stamped two simple flower images in black and then fussy cut & layered a paper pieced flower, popping it up with a foam dot on top of the other two blossoms.  A little dimension goes a long way on a clean & simple design!  This set really has endless possibilities when you use patterned paper to embellish the blossom images!

Until next time,

Happy stamping!

{create it wednesday} don’t forget…

Hello PRS fans!!   Rosemary here with another {Create it Wednesday} post.  I have been loving all the beautiful cards that the design team has been posting using the new Blossom set!  Today’s card uses fun bright colors and paper piecing.  Yep… more paper piecing… I seem to be in paper piecing mode when it comes to the Blossom set, lol!!

I stamped the stems using a bright green ink (Memento Pear Tart) and then added the “grass” using the brushstroke image from the PRS New Day stamp set.  The leaves were stamped in the same ink on some BasicGrey Highline patterned paper and trimmed out.  The flowers were stamped in bright pink (Memento Rose Bud) on additional Highline paper and trimmed out.  Before adhering the flowers and leaves I partially embossed the white cardstock panel and added the sentiment in black in.  Once the flowers were attached I added dollops of yellow Stickles to the centers.   Rounded a couple of corners and then mounted the panel on a bright pink cardstock base.

Tuesday Ideas: Simple Blossoms

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with another installment of Tuesday Ideas!  I’m here to share a simple, clean and simple design today using the new Blossom set.

Have you ever found yourself in love with a stamp set, but not sure you want to attempt coloring the images that it contains?  Why not use a little sparkle to simplify things?!  I simply stamped the flower and stem images in colors I liked and then filled in the flower petals with sparkle from a Wink of Stella brush marker.  Adding a simple clear gemstone to the center added just enough interest to this simple design and the fantastic sentiment is so appropriate for all the sparkle!  This is basically a one layer card with a simple gemstone added for an embellishment!

This stamp set has so many possibilities!  You can color, paper piece or simply add a little sparkle to the blossoms to create endless designs!

Until next time,

Happy stamping!

{create it wednesday} oh happy day…

Hello PRS fans!!!  Rosemary here today with card I made using the newly released PRS set Blossom!  I don’t know about you, but I am totally in love this with new set!!   Those sweet flowers and sentiments make this crafty girl happy!!  Today I have a simple, but very sweet little card that I made using the smallest blossom in the set along with the sentiment “oh happy day”.  The layout for my card is based on the current sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch so I will be posting this to their line up, as well.

I decided to do a little watercoloring for this card.  I used the smooth side of a piece of Ranger/Tim Holtz water color paper (love that stuff!!).  Originally I stamped the flower in VersaMark watermark ink, applied gold embossing powder and then heat set.  Because I had decided to use some pretty papers from the My Mind’s Eye “On Trend” 6×6 pad I got out a coral colored reinker to use for my watercoloring.  I colored up the flower and then trimmed it out.  When I was done I wasn’t really happy with the gold embossing so I stamped the flower using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and then watercolored the flower… and it turned much better, lol!!   I die cut a couple of banners, stamped the sentiment on one and then layered them on the piece of polka dot paper that I had roughed up the edges on a bit.   After adhering the flower I added some Crystal Stickles to the center for a bit of bling.

Thanks for stopping by today…  I can’t wait to share more projects using this gorgeous set, as well as other PRS stamp sets… maybe even do some more watercoloring!!
