PRS-ProjectThursday-GiftBag-and-Tag

Hello everyone… The “Getting Artsy Week” is continue! Helen is here today and I have an artsy, fun birthday gift bag and tag to share with you all for this Project Thursday.

PRS-ProjectThursday-GiftBag

I use the Plain – White / Flat Paper Bag for the gift bag. I inserted a stamping pad that I made out of fun foam inside the bag for easy stamping. And then, I stamped it with the artsy images from the Everyday Stamp SetHappy Art Stamp Set, and New Day Stamp Set.

I stamped each image in different colors using the VersaFine Clair – CheerfulVersaFine Clair – SummertimeVersaFine Clair – Green Oasis, and VersaFine Clair – Warm Breeze.

Next is creating the gift tag. First, I created the 2 ombre color backgrounds with monoprint technique using acrylic paints and gelli plate. I pulled the print using heavyweight cardstock.

I stamped one of the jars from the Oh So Fun Stamp Set on the green/blue ombre print with VersaFine Clair – Nocturne and then I fussy cut it with micro-tip scissors.

I stamped the sentiment from the Everyday Stamp Set on the orange/yellow print using the  VersaFine Clair – Nocturne. I cut it into sentiment banner and punch a tag hole on it.

I wrapped twine around the jar and then I added the tag and one of the Light Mint Buttons. I use one of the mini wooden clothes pin to add the tag on the gift bag.

I hope this project give you idea how to celebrate someone’s special day in artsy kindda way. Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!

Create It Wednesday~Paper Weaving

Hello everyone & welcome to another Create It Wednesday.  It’s been a long time since I’ve made a card with paper weaving and I thought the polka dot strip in the new Little Things stamp set would be fun to use.
PRS DT June oneMy inks are Delicata Sapphire Blue and Ruby Red which provide a lovely shimmer.  I stamped the image multiple times in each color.  Then I added some repositionable adhesive to the top of a panel of cardstock and lined up all the red strips side by side.  Next I began weaving with the blue strips–fun and easy!  When all the pieces were in place, I attached it with permanent adhesive and trimmed off the edges to the size I wanted.  The woven panel was added to a slightly larger white card.PRS DT June one close up

I used the same inks for my sentiment, stamping the big word from Happy Art onto a die cut vellum circle.  The encouraging words from Little Things were stamped & trimmed into a small strip which I attached over the circle.  This flat, cheerful card could be for a guy or a gal–maybe for someone who just got a promotion or is starting a new career.  Be sure to check out all the wonderful products in the PRS Store and I’ll see you soon.

Project Thursday ~ Fun Projects With Bits and Pieces, Stamp Set, Buttons and Mini Doilies

Hello Precious Remembrance Fans… It is Thursday and time for Project Thursday. Today I have 2 projects to share with you that I created using the Daily Thoughts Bits & Pieces, Happy Art Stamp Set, Antique Gray Buttons, and Mini Doilies.

PRS-DailyThoughts-BitsAndPieces-MixedMediaTag01-HelenGullett

My first project is a mixed media tag. I started with creating the tag background. I used watercolor 140 lbs paper for the tag because I like it thickness and sturdiness, especially with I works with mediums and water. I added Distress Oxide Inks on my craft mat – one color at a time – then I sprayed with water and dip my tag. I dried the color each time I added color to build up the layers of colors.

After all colors dried, I added some water splatters on it and dabbed it off with paper towel. Then I added thin layer of white gesso around the edge using my finger. I dried it with craft heater and then I stamped the triangles and hearts from the Happy Art Stamp Set with Black Archival Ink Pad. I dried the ink again with craft heater.

Next, I added some gel medium to cover the tag with foam brush, added one of the Mini White Mini Doilies on top of it and then added some gel medium again all over it. This will glue and seal the doily on the tag. Then I added some more white gesso randomly on the tag.

Once the gesso is dry, I added one of the big cassette from the Daily Thoughts Bits & Pieces Set with dries-clear adhesive glue. Next, I added the word strips and stars on the tag with dries-clear adhesive glue and I added some mini staplers on them for extra accent.

I added the buttons strip on the tag with 3D foam tape for extra dimension. And I embellished the tag with more star and buttons. That finished the tag 🙂

And for my second project it is a Thinking of You card. The front card is a clean-and-simple design. I stamped the scribble and splatter images from Happy Art Stamp Set in the middle of the white card. Then I added the Thinking of You piece on it with 3D foam tape and added the stars with dries-clear adhesive.

And for the inside, I created this pop-up using this tutorial. For the back of the cassette, I trimmed a white cardstock that the same size with the cassette. I used one of the Mini Yellow Doilies.

I hope you all enjoy today’s projects post. Thank you for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!

Project Thursday ~ Totally Messy Mixed Media Art Journal

Hello Precious Remembrance Shop friends… Helen is here. I am super excited to share my very first project with you all today!

prs-jan18-totally-mixed-media-art-journal-helen-gullett

I created a mixed media art journal using the Totally Stamp Set and Happy Art Stamp Set. This is also my first art journal page of this year with a new mixed media book.

PRS-Totally-ArtJournal-01

First, I added the neon acrylic paints (pink, yellow, green and purple) on the page with rubber brayer. Then I grab the toiler paper roll, dibbed it into acrylic paint and stamped couple circles on the page. Last, I added some splatters on the page. Acrylic paint dries quickly.

Once the page is dry well, I started to stamp the sentiments from Totally Stamp Set and Happy Art Stamp Set, and I stamped the brush strokes images from Totally Stamp Set on the page with Black Archival Ink Pad. I added some shadow on the bold sentiment by stamping it again with Memento Rose Bud. Archival ink stays wet for a while, so be careful not smudge the stamped images.

PRS-Totally-ArtJournal-02

Using make up sponge, I added some white acrylic paint along the edges of the page. And then using Faber Caste Big Brush Stamper Pen, I stamped the other brush stroke image from Totally Stamp Set on the top left corner and bottom right corner. This brush pen dries permanent and works well on clear photopolymer stamps like Precious Remembrance stamps.

PRS-Totally-ArtJournal-03

Remember that I told you that archival inks dries slowly? The quote on this page is still wet, so I sprinkled some of the clear glitter embossing powder on it and heat set it with my craft heater. Result is that now the quote is sparkly and shiny. I also I stamped some stars from the Totally Stamp Set with White archival ink, sprinkled with the clear glitter embossing powder, and heat set it.

Last step is that I randomly sprayed some of the irRessistible Neon Yellow spray. That finished my art journal 🙂

I hope you enjoy this post and are inspired to create today! Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a fabulous day.

Tuesday Ideas: One Layer Happy Art

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with more Tuesday Ideas inspiration using the wonderful Happy Art set!  This week, I went for a one layer CAS design.

2016 Apr26

I used red, turquoise and yellow inks for this design.  Each color was stamped off before being stamped on the card base and each was overlapped a bit for a fun color mix.  The sentiment was stamped in black and then I applied a touch of sparkle to it with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker.  Celebrations can always use a little shimmer and shine, right?!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Tuesday Ideas: Happy Art Background

Hello, Everyone!  It’s Melissa back with another Tuesday Ideas post!  This week, I thought I’d share a background I created using the wonderful Happy Art stamp set that was released last month!

2016 Apr11 HappyArt

I inked up the scribble image in three different inks (gray, blue & green), stamping each color individually and layering one on top of the other.  The sentiment was stamped in black on top of the finished background and blue & clear sequins added as embellishments.  The main panel was matted on black and popped up with foam dots.  Such a simple design!

This set has so many possibilities!  I hope this simple background idea inspires you to create your own!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Tuesday Ideas: Clean & Simple Happy Art

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with Tuesday Ideas inspiration using the fun Happy Art set!  March is coming to an end and warmer weather is coming!  With warmer days comes a busier calendar and I’m always a fan of clean & simple design!

2016 Mar29 HappyArt

I inked the scribble image in two different colors before stamping it.  Next, the fun sentiment & hearts trio were stamped in black.  Black sequins and little pink flower sequins were added for embellishments.  Then, tiny clear rhinestones were added to the centers of the black sequins.  Crystal Effects was applied to the hearts for a little shine.  The main panel was popped up with foam dots.  Sometimes a simple color scheme goes a long way on a card design!

Until next time, happy stamping!
