Tuesday Ideas {Hello there}

Happy Tuesday, friends! It’s Kelly here with some projects with just a hint of Fall! It still feels like Summer here, for the most part, but the air is getting a little crisper in the mornings and evenings, and the leaves on the mountains have started to change!  While I certainly don’t want to chase away Summer, I thought it would be fun to create this trio of early Fall cards/tag!

The Fall Colors stamp set is one of my favorites because it is surprisingly versatile, despite its name. I chose to use the “non-fall” sentiments and just added a hint of dual colored leaves.  I had only planned o making the one card, but after I made the coordinating tag, I thought a second card featuring the same tag would be fun as well!

For this card, I stamped the “mesh” image three times using gray ink. I used the three leaves and inked them up using two inks and stamped them at different angles for some movement. This piece is attached to a green card base using foam squares. I added the Kraft half circle and some hemp twine to enhance the nature theme. The sentiment is stamped three times and then heat embossed in gold.

I love making coordinating tags with my cards and this one was made especially to adorn a cellophane bag that will wrap up some fresh pumpkin bread! As I mentioned before, I decided to make a second card using this same tag design, but as the focal point. It is photographed in the first picture at the top of the post. I opted to use the “hi there” sentiment on the tags, rather than the one I used on the first card! I had so much fun putting these projects together!

Tuesday Ideas {Thanks, Friend!}

Hello, friends! It’s Kelly here for another installment of Tuesday Ideas! Spring has sprung and Summer will be here before we know it! I decided to make a fun and whimsical thank you card fitting for the season! I wanted to create a scrappy/stamp-y card that used a lot of images and the Thanks stamp set is the perfect choice!

I made the greeting a little more personal by using the Sketchy Alphabet and stamped it using black ink on the side panel. I used some Copic markers to color each letter a different color using the colors in the paper as my cues.  Of course I couldn’t resist adding a bit of sparkle and shine using some crystal glaze.

I did some gold embossing for some of the other sentiments. I created a little pattern paper pinwheel as a fun embellishment and used a few buttons to add to the charm. Have a great week!

Tuesday Ideas {that moment}

Welcome! It’s Kelly here with my latest installment of Tuesday Ideas! I’ve had this idea rolling around in my head for quite a while, so I am excited to share it with all of you! Last time, I shared with you a fun idea for using acetate, and I’m back at it again, but this time I’m also incorporating Shrinky Dinks! I knew that I wanted to stamp the film strip image from the Journey Stamp set onto acetate using Jet Black StazOn ink. I also wanted to incorporate many of the larger images from the set into my design. This would have been impossible with such a small card, but by shrinking them, I have the perfect, tiny embellishment!

The images on the Shrinky Dink pieces are all from the Journey stamp set as well. I created this card to send to the photographer that took my daughter’s head shots and performance pictures when she performed in The Nutcracker this past Christmas season. I can’t wait for her to get it! I really think she will like all of the details that I included on the card. The “click click” and “smile smile” images are heat embossed on the card using gold powder.

I absolutely LOVE how perfectly the “that moment” sentiment complements this design. It, as well as the black sentiment stamped along the film strip, is from the newly released Daily Thoughts stamp set!  It is also embossed in gold for maximum shine! The film strips are stapled to the card and then I added a small pink bow to cover them.  I had so much fun on this design!

Tuesday Ideas {Thinking of You}

Hello friends! I am thrilled to be back with my second installment of Tuesday Ideas! I have a quick card to share with you. I chose to use black and white with just a pop of color! I’m completely in LOVE with this jar from the Oh So Fun stamp set! They are so versatile for so many occasions! I chose to stamp the smaller jar using black  StazOn ink onto a piece of acetate and filled my jar with Simply ButterSoft Pink, and Light Mint buttons. I love how they look behind the acetate. I used a zig zag stitch on my sewing machine to adhere the acetate onto the card. I also stamped a few of the triangle images onto the side of the card from the Oh So Fun set as well. The Daily Thoughts set paired up so nicely for this design! I love all of the small sentiments as well as the larger ones! I added a strip of pattern paper at the bottom to bring it another pop of color.  I hope I have given you a few ideas of different ways to use your stamps paired with acetate!

Tuesday Ideas {You’re my Sunshine}

Hello and welcome! It’s Kelly here and  I am so excited to be sharing my first Tuesday Ideas with you! As a child of the 80’s…I’m “totally” in love with the Totally  stamp set! I love how versatile it is, especially when paired with another stamp set like I have used on my card today. I chose to use the darling Thanks stamp set.

I thought I would create something modern using the bold, graphic prints in the pattern papers I chose to use. I really like the juxtaposition that the script of the “totally” sentiment pairs with the papers. All of the sentiments that I used on today’s card are embossed in gold. I also chose a few burnished gold sequins to bring in an added detail of dimension.

I hope I’ve inspired you to pull out some of your pattern papers and pair them with your favorite PRS stamps. I love that you can completely change the feel of a stamp set by the colors, patterns and details that you add. Thanks for joining me today!

Tuesday Ideas: A Holiday Thank You

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa here with my final post for Precious Remembrance Shop.  I am stepping down from the design team and continuing on in my creative journey.  I have truly enjoyed my time spent with Dyane and her amazingly talented team and will sincerely miss being a part of all the wonderful creativity here!

For my farewell post, I created a holiday themed thank you card.  At season’s end, we’ll all need a few of these!

2016-dec13

I used one of the pine images from the Oh Christmas set to decorate the fun coffee cup from the Coffee Love set.  I love the clean fonts of the sentiments in the Thanks stamp set and selectively inked one to label the cup.  The trio of stars are also from the Oh Christmas set and I stamped and then embellished them with a gold Wink of Stella brush marker to add a touch of festive sparkle.  The green chevron washi tape I found in my stash and used it to ground the coffee cup (please excuse the pun).  The cup is popped up with foam dots for dimension.  This design is a very simple one to create.  I love the sparkle of the stars (they remind me of Starbucks’ gold stars…)!

I hope you’re well on your way to finishing up your holiday cards.  Don’t forget to make a few thank you cards while you’re at it!

Wishing you all the best in the new year ahead!

Tuesday Ideas: School Themed Christmas

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with more inspiration for Tuesday Ideas!  This week, I’m sharing a school themed Christmas card which uses two stamp sets from the Precious Remembrance Shop store:  School Days and Oh Christmas.  This time of year, school children often take a little something to school for their teachers and this clean and simple card is just perfect for the occasion!

2016-dec6-space

I had so much fun making this card!  I found some fun, plaid washi tape recently and adhered it to the bottom of the card .  The “MERRY” and “Christmas” are both partial sentiments from the Oh Christmas set.  I inked up selective portions and stamped them.  I fussy cut the letters in “MERRY” and drew little red polka dots on them to add a little festive element.  I arranged them randomly to make them come alive and popped each one up with foam dots for dimension.  The school bus was stamped in black ink also and left uncolored to keep the overall design simple.  I can see this going to a bus driver!  They need a little of our gratitude too!

I hope you’re making progress in your holiday card making!  Isn’t it crazy just how quickly time goes by this time of year?  With clean and simple designs, you can get your cards made and in the mail on time!  I hope this inspires you somehow as you are putting things together this holiday season!

Until next time, happy stamping!

Tuesday Ideas: Holiday Simplicity

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with more clean and simple inspiration using the Oh Christmas stamp set!  For today, I created a very simple, one layer design.

2016-nov1

I stamped the sentiment first in black.  A trio of pine boughs was stamped on either side of the sentiment in green.  I added a touch of sparkle to the words using pearlescent watercolors.

Yet another design that is easily mass produced in time for the holidays!  How are your cards coming along?

Until next time, happy stamping!

Tuesday Ideas: A Little Christmas Sparkle

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa back with more Tuesday Ideas inspiration using the wonderful Oh Christmas set!

2016-oct18

In addition to lovely sentiments in this set, there are some wonderful pine twig and star images!  I used them to create this one layer holiday design.  I stamped the sentiment first in black ink.  The pine twigs were stamped in green and then the stars were stamped and embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder for some festive sparkle.  I love having the sentiment as the focal point on this.  That script font is just beautiful, isn’t it?!

Enjoy the rest of your October and until next time, happy stamping!

Tuesday Ideas: Color Blocked Christmas

Hello, everyone!  It’s Melissa and I’m back with another clean and simple holiday card idea for you!  Once again, I’m using the beautiful Oh Christmas stamp set.

2016-oct4

I decided to use one of the fantastic sentiments in the set as the focal point and this is what transpired.  I used two different bright colors to create a color block beneath the main panel.  These were mounted on a piece of black cardstock for a little more contrast.  The assembled piece was popped up with foam dots for dimension.  You could use any two colors you wanted and even vary colors from card to card for a wide variety of holiday cards!  So simple and so fun!

October is here and the countdown continues.  I hope you’re getting a head start on your card making and crafting!

Until next time, happy stamping!
